Tory record....
LATE TO CLOSE DOWN

AND THE BODIES DID PILE HIGH
Congratulations to Boris and his cronies.... the countries been conned again
Don't worry, They've had the same SNP/Green pro-independence majority since the last election and done nothing with it. Basically support for it is hovering around 50%, the economists say it'll be ruinous and sturgeon doesn't seem that arsed apart from making noise to appease her supporters. Salmond would be in Downing St now knocking on the door. If anything, it's a disappointing result for them given the brexit / johnson / covid sleaze gifts westminster's given her over the last years

The difference this time being that both pro-independence parties stood on a platform of holding a referendum this term. I’d say Sturgeon will take this result as a good one after the Salmond debacle... looks like her standing hasn’t been diminished up there (from the outside looking in, of course).

Claptrap. She specifically said if SHE got a majority, then she would call a referendum, ignoring the fact that she has no legal powers to do so. It suits her for Boris to say no, as she can use it to bleat to the sheep. Plus of course, she’d lose and be out on her arse.
They got most seats but still less than half of the population voted for them . She may not mention that bit
So, after this mornings round of TV interviews, it's clear why Labour will never move forward. It has to many factions and suffers from serious disloyalty within.
It looks terminal, there is no way to unify the party in it's current state.
My advice would be to break the party down into three legal entities, Welsh Labour, Scottish Labour and English Labour.
Before they can win the war against the opposition, they need to stop the civil war within.
To many Snowball and Napoleon's and not enough Boxer's at the moment.

Already are. My choice on Thursdays ballot was for the Scottish Labour Party.
The civil war isn't different bits of the UK anyways, but hard core leftists versus pragmatic types

Claptrap? So there isn’t a pro-independence majority in Holyrood? Get your head out of the sand.
You’re living in a dream world, where politicians stand by their words.
Here’s a couple of simple facts, whether we like them or not:
1) There is a clear pro-independence majority in Holyrood
2) Sturgeon will at least attempt to use that majority to leverage a further referendum
If Westminster denies that referendum, it will further galvanise the independence argument, leading to a propaganda victory for the nationalists and likely increased support.

Of course, Corbyn probably would have won in 2017 if it wasn't for the Blairite saboteurs within the party undermining him and directing resources set for marginal seats to safe seats and so much more. Witness the political assassination that took place the next two years while Johnson hid in a fridge.
