Well, I thought it'd be good to have a thread for people to put on what they are listening to at the moment. Always good to gear what other people are listening to as nothing like hearing a new band or record you don't know and it seems lots of you good people love your music.
So, to kick off I've had New Gold Dream by Simple Minds on repeat today. Can't say I cared for their later stuff but this record, well, it's just great and reminiscent of the shimmery, hazy Summer days of youth when you had not a care in the world.
What else have you all been listening to recently?

Joan Baez turns 80 today. Had the privilege to see her at the Cambridge Folk Festival a few years back.
I remember seeing a documentary on Dylan and she talked about the the songs he threw in the bin,
She would retrieve the screwed up bits of paper, flatten them out and realise that his cast offs were better than her finest efforts.
Something like that. Worth a watch that documentary for anyone who's not seen it, by Scorsese, I think.
Anyway, this is what I've been listening to today. The great Joan Baez.

Gosh, that's a real blast from the past. She always makes me think of warm evenings and sitting outside round the fire.

If I were a betting man, I'd put money on this being Neil Young. It isn't. Nor was it written by the group performing it.

I have two of their CD's in a stack of 'waiting to listen to' stuff - they appear to be a band that demands that you listen to them rather than have them on in the background, there seems to be a bit about them though so will try them when in the right mood.

There is a lot of stuff in the stack mind, the Teenage Fanclub album Howdy! is up next - don't know whether to persevere with Bob Dylan's old bootleg and unreleased material as it is grim beyond words.

Saw them in Edinburgh and Newcastle and seeing them in Glasgow later this year-very atmospheric concerts, more of a happening than an event

Laffy, love the band but never saw them live. I think that will persuade me to go see them. Thanks :)

Haha - followed by the best of 'Our Kid' no doubt to mellow the tone :)

I have just re-discovered Donovan - pretty impressive stuff and the production on them shines, the only thing that lets him down is his numerous references to underage girls, something like a pastoral Gary Puckett.

Have to thank Laffy and others on this board for helping me to find London Grammar. New album is amazing and the live rendition on YouTube is an excellent watch.

What with that and Norwich City getting back to the Premier League - been a good weekend. :)

Great message board to discuss music. Good distraction away from 433 and the long ball then :p ;)

Up the blues today....:)
