I thought that was really good, nice build up to the match, commentary when needed but not all the time. Good use of a Go-pro camera behind the goal. Made the whole thing very individual to Exeter rather than the generic match highlights package.

I was just about to suggest the same. Bumble? Something the "trust" could do?!? I think it would be great PR. Focus on the players and let fans know them - it would be harder to criticise someone you can identify with than it is to tear lumps out of e.g. some Number 5 (?) Ellis.

There are good reasons to do this but that isn't one of them. Being a nice chap doesn't preclude a footballer from stick for being useless, nor should it.

I could be wrong but the lad who was doing most of the filming appeared to be uni age, so maybe something done with the uni students. He had no more than an average range DSLR, lens and tripod. He was filming quite a bit of it himself and obviously had access to the clubs GO-Pro and match video as well, and then spliced it all together. Not difficult if you have the right software.

It's something th media department would be more than capable of doing, they have done similar things in the past, but with only two of them it wouldn't be possible to put the time into it. I know in the past when uni students were used, they weren't usually available for every home game and it always looks tinpot if things don't appear every match.

I do think it would be well worth doing though and great fun to put together.

You aso have the problem that anyone filming or taking still pitchside must have a Football League license which are nearly impossible to get unless the club decides to license someone.

Always better if you get them scoring from the other side of goal, so they are running in towards you. I had the lens a bit wider than usual and it meant I got the ball going over the keeper which always looks good.

The silly so and so's went and celebrated in an empty corner though. Me and two more snappers gambled that if Carlisle scored second half the players would run to celebrate in front of their fans so we were all at the other side of the goal then they go and celebrate in the other corner. Bring back Kavanagh I say, at least with him, if he scored two goals he would celebrate in front of the photographers at one side of goal for the first and then in front of the others at the other side for the second. These young uns have a lot to learn! :)

A bit OT but I wonder what sponsorship deal Exeter have with Flybe. They seem to have been the sponsor for some time.

Theres a very good Art College in Carlisle - used to be the 3rd best in the UK - Im sure some students could put something together for us.

Exeter building 2 new stands? Every club finds a way apart from us.

Students are usually more than happy to put together something (and make a really good job of it) as a one off, it can count for their course work so both sides get somethign out of it. The problem is for them to find time to do it 23+ times, to do it when they have other course work to hand in, to do it when they are on their Christmas break at home with their families.

Unless the club can find someone who is gifted and a Carlisle fan then it tends to be unreliable. The club don't like folk working for nothing and aren't willing to pay, so unfortunately things don't get done.

Absolutely no way that the club would pay £100, tha would be at least £2,300 ove a season and they wouldn't think it was worth the price.

Yet they're happy to pay Clibbins 100k a year to sit on his arse and look like a cu.nt and spout shite every time he opens his mouth.

Shows everything that's wrong with the football club and those running it.just how hard would it be to get a sponsor to cover that.

Still now that other useless shit has gone we might actually get somebody in who.ll actually do a few deals.Meanwhile Accy today got a new sponsor whos providing them with a brand new commercial laundry for use by all areas of the club.

And exactly why the Club wallows...

Small price to pay for increased viewing and exposure for a better product, and I’m sure a sponsor for £2k could be found easily if viewing figures were shown to be good?

Or are such simple ideas beyond the realm!

Totally agree CCU but unless those at the top see the value of media and modern communication then these sort of things won't happen.

Even sponsorship can be a minefield. one department gets some sponsorship and another department thinks it's unfair and they should have had it. Without media being driven from the top there can never be the staff and resources to go the extra mile to make the club stand out.

In the last few weeks there was an article on the OS thanking the fans groups for providing a lens that they had asked for, so the club isn't providing even the most basic equipment. I know when I worked there I used all my own camera gear. When I left my gear went with me, even down to the software editting programmes and such.

The clubs who do well in marketing themselves usually have some one at the top who sees the value in media and marketing

Nothing changes then Bumble I can remember in my days with the supporters club Andy Hall trying to butter me up regarding some eqpt that was "desperately needed" and I recall thinking if it's that desperately needed the bloody club should be buying it. And from that Exeter video, it looks like it's their Trust who pay for it. Which might be an idea if the video went out to Trust members as a way of encouraging people to join because right now you're getting nothing else from them for your tenner.
