Booked our 40th wedding anniversary trip through our local high street Thomas Cook, back in January. No part of the break was Thomas Cook related apart from putting it together.
Checked the flights with Flybe and they are okay (so far). Checked with the hotel and the booking had been cancelled. Same with the car hire. Had to re-book both myself but I don’t believe for 1 minute that I would have been told if I hadn’t have asked.
Seems strange that the flights survived when I wouldn’t have had transport or accommodation when we got there.
Thomas Cook took full payment in January and stated that they required this to secure everything.
I’m guessing they had to pay Flybe but nobody else.
Will have to keep checking the flights right up to next Tuesday when we go to Jersey, hopefully!
Sort the compensation out when we get back. Luckily ATOL protected.
