His predecessor at EWM David Stevenson is an equally respected person and knowing David as I do I knew he would sell EWM only to someone who would carry the EWM banner to the ultimate for the benefit of all the staff. If Philip comes on board which seems very likely then I think the club will be in very good hands for the future. However, as supporters we must not expect fireworks although Days strategy is move quickly to build things up.
What I would like to say is that AJ in particular has always had the club at heart and always will and I knew that he would not sell the club down the river and if this comes off he should be truly thanked for all he has done for Carlisle United.

Trust have said to News and Star they have been involved in this.
So either it's been very quick or indeed they haven't met Day and it's all dine by paper work, which is extremely poor, or they have lied again!

Hi Jim
And were you allowed to ask questions/receive answers.
I'm at a bit of a loss to Mike's comment that its not black/white as to whether the poi has been involved from the start 640+ days ago.

Hi Richard,
Yes, the person involved was sitting close to us and we had a clear view of the individual. Speaking personally, I had sufficient information to confirm the person's identity.

Hi Richard,
Firstly, despite the subject heading, I presume you are not referring to Philip Day as I told you yesterday we had not met him.
Regarding the person who has become known as the POI, as you know we are limited in what we can say due to the agreements we entered into in order to participate in the process. What I can tell you is that when we met him the focus of the meeting was solely on his ideas and ambitions for improving the Club's situation and details of his investment plans.

We have been told that the trust have met the investor at least once.
Did the trust ask the question whether or not the investor has been involved since day one 600+ days ago and if yes did you get a response and if no why wasn't the question asked?

It's common courtesy Mullen.
It's also not listed on the main CUOSC Contact page?

Is a loan investment ? Though I feel that question was gone through 100 times over during the last 12 months.
Apologies Dancing, not my intention.
Just gets on my nerves that-
A) people seem to think everything, regardless of whether they realistically have any impact on it, is the boards fault
people seem to feel entitled to know the ins and outside of every single thing at the club, far more than any fans of other clubs I know do. Forgetting that the club is a business and they wouldn't expect to know the same about any other business.
Coupled with personal and work stress lately, has probably turned me into a irritable old git stuck inside a mid-20s body.

Bruntonpasty wrote: Whatever you think about Mr Day, this prevents the others raising money against the ground to repay themselves like Knighton did. Has Mr Day put this money in place to repay PFD as suggested further up? time will tell, but now there is one club asset that the BOD have less control over, Mr Day has a foot well wedged in the door now it would appear.
Almost certainly PFD will be repaid from EWM's loan. PFD filed its accounts to the end of April 2016 in January 2017. Nobody noticed that the loan to CUFC (1921) which then stood at £690,750 had become repayable within 12 months. i.e. by 30th April 2017 at the latest. On that basis the loan from EWM may just be a round £1 million.

I don't see EWM paying off dead loans but we shall see when the detail is revealed.
I do think this is a positive step for all-and I include the current stakeholders in that statement as the Club clearly needs refinanced properly and aggressively

carwash wrote: CCU, I think that explains the delay in signing off the accounts compared to last year when they had been signed on 5th November. It looks to me as if PFD (Pioneer) want to put their business relationship with the club on an arms length basis and have fixed a date before the end of April 2017 for when they get paid back. This has repercussions for the going concern sign-off of the 1921 company accounts by the auditors and forces the club to replace the PFD loan with what now seems to be a new arrangement with EWM. I suppose if no-one else came forward then AJ himself would have had to stump up the cash out of his own pocket.

So instead of a few wins papering over the cracks we'll be able to knit one pearl one over them instead.
