18/19 - Yeovil (A) Match Thread

Listening to RC, I’m thinking we need a big clear out and start with a clean sheet of paper.There are probably 3/4 players who are good enough.

This team finished mid table in a terrible league-the worst league in memory.Why would you retain many from that team?

Today was yet another spineless performance... Cullen came on and was absolute pants...shitted out of a 1 on 1 challenge with the keeper in 2nd half...thats not what i want to see.
Usual huff and puff with woeful shooting today..there wasnt enough desire to win either...in the end Collin saved the humiliation with some excellent saves.

Nice to meet you today Waltero and have a crack...i did say try and enjoy the game...try is such a hard word to do watching that shower though.

Yeovil were there for the taking first half but with no Striker(s) anywhere near the pitch it was toothless. Second half we were lucky to get a draw with Collin having to pull off 4 or 5 saves to keep them out.

I see what you mean, but Yeovil were there for the taking all season.

Not including injury time, its 6 hours and 41 minutes since our last goal away from home; 3 points from the last 8 away games; and a manager who took over a team only 2 points away from 3rd place can't even get us in the top 10.

Why has this clown been rewarded for failure with a contract for next season?

Deeksme it can only be because Pressley is willing to accept a very low salary to save his career as a League manager and work with a playing budget that is around 30% lower than this season's budget. There can be no other rational explanation which fits the facts.

Because he's what the unambitious temporary custodians want to achieve their goal of non-league football?

Can’t change the fact that as long as there is no change in the clubs owners, the club will be stuck in the mire we find ourselves in.
If we had achieved promotion we would have been straight back down, given the planned budget cuts for next season it’s hardly worth even thinking about going next season, as all the signs point to things getting worse, at best another season mid table in the this league worst sliding out of it with no way back.

Sorry Waltero, just got in and didn't look at the message board when I was at the game otherwise would have come over if I'd have known you were there.

Not great by any means against a poor side but with a number 9 we win that game and are out of sight after an hour.
Thomas was a handful all game and Hope missed a couple of sitters.
If Thomas had strikers to pull the ball back to or cross to then it's a different result.
We tired again and Yeovil got some belief.
Fantastic save from a header by Collin.

That was the jist of what he said to Andy Hall. He said a lot of people said relegation was likely and the players have over achieved and deserve great credit.

Jesus - Ive just watched the highlights and interview - he's proud of the players and we have overachieved by not getting relegated!

Aye he's too easy pleased for my liking.

No problem NCF next season will here soon enough. What a god awful game that was. Had a good night out in Yeovil, kept meeting Carlisle fans all over the parish

Just got back home after a brilliant weekend with the West Coasters, football let it down a bit, but we were easily the best side until half time and as NCF has said, a decent centre forward, and I think we would have been out of site, second half though was poor with Colin keeping us in it with a couple of blinding saves.
Cant help feeling it will be a completely different team next season (for bad or worse), but at least its going to be a very interesting close season, over to you Mr Pressley.

I think he was talking about existing players who keep getting injured.

Probably thought we were a bunch of marauding Jocks. We had no bother at all in Yeovil in fact the natives were surprisingly friendly.

As is the case the majority of places you go Waltero. I didn't want to do Elvis but stick to Worzel Gummidge but we were out voted but we didn't feel the need to protest outside the houses of parliament just because the vote didn't go the way we wanted it too.
