"I'm not expecting to match Swindon" why? Haven't we beaten them in the last five meetings did I read. Yeah we have a new squad but what I saw v Crawley, Tranmere, Hibs was quite a handy looking team. Hope SP isn't gonna over think tactics and ruin those with natural flair.
Hope is to be back for next week but where's he gonna play, given Scougal will be 1st on the team sheet.

It took Neil McDonald a decent amount of time to realise that we were playing too negatively in away games and you could actually have a go at teams.

Granted he brought that tactic with him from the top division so hopefully Pressley will soon quickly realise he can do likewise.

I'd rather the team had a go anyway and if you get beat then fair enough but at least then you can say you had a go.

I could be wrong but Pressley seems to be over complicating tactics and formations somewhat. Some players aren't the brightest.

NEWSFLASH LADS. Weve got crap owners and a crap director of football whove supposedly bequeethed upon us a bottom 5 budget. Strap yourselves in coz theres gonna be worse results than 3-2 away to Swindon to come whoevers manager.

Our budget must be on par with Barrows.

It's the same budget (possibly higher) as Sheridan had and he didn't do too bad. We'll have to give Pressley a bit of time I suppose but he seems easy pleased.

Not long back. That was not good today. Hard to tell how good Swindon will be but we are our own worst enemies. In the second half, with a strong wind at our backs, we could have made life far harder for them. Instead, we didn't pressure, our simple passing was woeful, vision from some players was terrible, substitutions were poor and discipline was bad. Carroll was like a headless chicken and deserved to go. Few positives to take from today other than a good display by mckirdy and Collin. Loft was crap. Scougal was crap. Mellish was even worse and the others were passable at best.
I don't like to judge young players harshly - especially when they have moved up from non league - but they will need to learn fast as we have no money or many other options.

Always like an away day. Good ground, decent atmosphere, nice locals and a fun day out... game aside.

Swindon boss Richie Wellens saying in his post-match interview that the dugouts had to be moved today, because they got a phone call after Tuesday night's game from the FA after Steven Pressley had complained that the position of them gave the home team an unfair advantage.

What a shan.
So our manager's now also someone who goes running to the FA with petty little gripes.
I'm willing to bet that those dugouts will have been in exactly the same position since Swindon had the refurb for their time in the Premier league.
Hundreds of managers will have used them since, without them going crying to the FA like some whining little girl.

So they were already wound up by the time we got down there then.

Give the players the week off, they don't know what to do on the pitch, baffling substitutions and then moan at Swindon before we get there to rile them up.

Maybe Pressley is not that daft after all as we only lost 3-2 as it could have been 4-0 easy.

Can he pull off losing by only one goal every week - only time will tell.

Strangely enough he got lucky yesterday.

On the other hand there'll be rules on this so if they were too close, they were too close. He pointed it out, they were moved.

I’m at least happy that Pressley (in post-match interview) admitted that we couldn’t string any passes together..this at least mirrors what was said by those on here who attended. Nowt worse than managers who seem to either bury their heads in the sand or be positive about it. He at least didn’t do that.

I was always fairly proud that the late great Ray Wilkins said similar when he came as Fulham manager.

Richie Wellens should be a stand-up comedian like those other Mancs, Bernard Manning and Jason Manford.

Spoke to a mate who’s a Swindon fan and was at the game yesterday, he thought Carlisle weren’t too bad they just came up against a good Swindon side, he said it was the best he’s seen Swindon play in a couple of years.

He was impressed with Carlisle’s two wingers, McKirdy and Thomas.

My mate who was there said they were absolute shite. He's hard to please mind.

It was ludicrous when Lummy called the positioning before they scored one of their goals, poor coaching from players who do not sem to know their jobs.

Is Pressley going to do an 'Abbott' and play players out of position through stupidity?

Webster is standing 10 yards off the line in that third goal. Defending basics.

The impression I got from watching the video was that Scougall was behind their player - Webster was better placed to intercept the header. He's the defender that concerns me more than Mellish - I'm expecting better than what we're getting from him.

SP explained after the game that we had people marking, but left Webster free as he would attack the ball wherever it went, I have played with this tactic a few times.
Swindon, according to SP, sent Fryers up as a 6th person, Scougall was nearest to him but could see he was asking around for help, Mellish was on the post with Isgrove, personally I would have quickly swapped if possible while the corner was being lined up.

Corner comes in, Byron doesn't make the header, Scougall has no chance stopping him.

That's very sneaky sending in a 6th person. Is that even allowed!
