Good points there, have noticed he tends to name players when most managers dont do that. I agree with his Thomas assessment tho, hes not doing enough.

I’m sure there were also plenty of Notts County fans last season saying we won’t go down coz there’s 2 worse teams than us or we’ll buy our way out of trouble in January. That ended well for them.

I’d like to think we had a lot less than that but it happens.

It's a bloody poor league this when you see Newport second and Crewe, Grimsby and Cheltenham in the top seven.

I said on his appointment Pressley was not good enough and I think you only have to look at the results since his arrival to determine what his future should be at BP.

Crowds are going to slowly dwindle. Less than 4000 home fans for a Saturday game isn't good.

In a strange way, it's a pity Collin had such a good game yesterday. Just imagine if he'd had a stinker! It could have finished 1-8 - would that have been enough for Pressley's P45 to be produced?

I am sure that Pressley said that Adam Collin had a 'good' game yesterday, not sure what that made the rest of the players.

What happened to the wonderkid Sorensen? We faffed about through the summer waiting for the right centre forward to be available who was going to make a big difference to our season.

He's made one start, on which he got hooked at half time, and played 3 minutes of Saturday's game.

If he's going to turn good it's going to be quite the turnaround.

Totally agree. Much was made of us waiting for our "main striker" to come in on loan, a potential 20 goal a season player.

Now he's here it seems he's not match fit and/or able to make an impact at this level.

A very poor reflection on Pressley & Holdsworth's "Woollenball" recruitment system thus far. He's not the only one, either.

I think Lummy has mentioned previously that Sorensen wasn't the 20 goal a season player they were on about.

Still no excuse for wasting a wage just for the sake of it

Perhaps so but either way the recruitment strategy has failed.

On that interpretation, we held out for a striker who we didn't get for whatever reason and have ended up with a last-minute, sub-standard replacement.

If we'd failed to get our 20 goal a season striker I'd have taken a 15 goal a season striker. I'm not writing Sorensen off, there's no real reason that he can't turn out to be a success.

But we were led to believe that funds were being held back to get the attacking talent in at the end of pre-season that would take us from an alright team into a team that could challenge.

I really, really want Pressley to be a success. I think he talks well enough and is a likeable enough bloke that if things start going our way he'll be able to take us up at least into League 1, if not the Championship (that is taking everything we know about the owners and budgets etc aside). How much of it is down to him I'm not sure, but at the moment it seems like all bluster and no substance.

But look how he uses them. Olaf gets the ball and holds it up. His 2 fellow strikers are out on the touchlines, how is he supposed to find a pass to them?
