Back to the 433 it would seem. Best midfield we have probably, even though I don't rate Bridge. Glad to see McKirdy back in too.

Good line up for a change apart from bridge. Not much experience at the back though but this could work

Honestly think that defence will get rinsed. Not enough experience, and mellish has never looked great.

Sounds dire again.

Looked at the selection and I was half heartened by having three creative players AND a forward...but one of our better defenders sat on the bench with inexperience and indifference on it....
another odd ball team selection.

At least the higher number of forward thinking players has us 1-1 instead of buried before HT (more by luck than judgement though)

Terrible game. Two bad teams again. We are worse than them. Bridge is doing ok as is Collin and Braithwaite . Very muted celebration for our goal. People were ready to boo at half time and the goal burst their bubble.

Got to get better second half.

Amazing it holds around the 3,800-4,000 mark...i remember better teams than this with less paying punters....

We are a mess, if we’re not troubling teams like Macclesfield and Northampton at home we are in serious danger.

Good job there`s no VAR because i`m sure Collin moved a metre to his left before the penalty was taken .
Yes we had luck but you`ve still got to take advantage of it and we did
Bridge gets a lot of abuse on here but i thought he was our best player, I thought Thomas to was an improvement on recent performances he looks a better player when he beats the defender and gets to the byline which he did frequently.
Branthwaite is going to be a top defender , he looks as though he can read a game and make space for himself.
i`d like to think we could keep him for longer than this season but i heard a rumour Liverpool have first choice of him.

You can move as far forward as you want as long as one foot stays at least partially on the goalline

All very true but despite all the above, when Carlisle United win a match it makes my day... I can't help feeling that for many on here it has the opposite effect.

He was given CPR at the scene and taken away in a ambulance don't know if he survived or not

No good Thomas getting to the byline and getting a cross in if theres nobody in there to meet it....been a problem for seasons and its school boy basics

Biggest moment for me today........seeing Michael Bridges on that pitch again. Over for a wedding apparently.

First half was as poor as anything I have seen from a Carlisle team for a long, long time.
Absolutely bleak, dreadful stuff.
Have to give credit to one and all though for a much improved second half.
We desperately, desperately need to get Brisge out the team, in my opinion.
The manner of both our goals served to show that fannying around with pointless passes in midfield is not the answer.
I went home happy because we won.

Or above the goal line - christ knows how referees/assistants are supposed to be able to see that though, with the assistance of VAR.

I know what you mean mate, you feel some on here are almost happy when they get beat. I’m happy with the win but can also see the bigger picture, we scraped a win against another poor side with another poor performance. It’s papering over the cracks, the reality is we’re a poor side in serious trouble - the reduction of a relegation place might be our saving grace.

Yes terrible game, yes two poor teams, but a win is a win and hopefully that may give our team a bit of confidence. Also perhaps we will stay with 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 instead of 5 at the back and getting swamped in midfield. We had a couple of lucky breaks but that happens in football - week in week out.

Unlike one comment, where I was ( in the paddock ) I don't think supporters were getting ready to boo before half time at 0-1. Most were trying to get behind the team. Fans are entitled to say what they like but I don't think chants for the manager to go in the middle of the game help the team. Save it for the end of the game. I want us to win, week in week out, irrespective of managers or owners.

I thought our two centre backs did well. Mellish is much more comfortable in his rightful position at left centre back rather than exposed at left back. We played better in the second half - I thought Macclesfield helped us in that respect in that they made the mistake of playing deeper and pressing less.

Let's just hope that yesterday is the start of more promising performances. Up the Blues.
