Yes your idea, no one has ever thought of it before, infact there is a smaller scale one within 10 miles for starters .

Well I was suggesting it on here a few times.Funded like a PFI with commercial use and ancillary facilities.

Someone should ask NC what the consequences are for not rescheduling in terms of accounts filing, EFL etc

Surely if the debt is PG’d must make a difference.

I think PD is playing them like a cat with an unfortunate mouse-trapped and awaiting its fate, not sure which way the cat will move.

He wants his money back-all of it.The PGs just reinforce the position but I think he would have to exhaust his security over the ground before accessing them.He won’t do that for obvious reasons.

So we end up with impasse-and the rescheduling of the debt is key to signing off the annual accounts.The reality is PD can just turn his phone off and do nothing

Yes Laffy, I think PD has already turned his phone off. It was interesting when Clibbens was justifying John Jackson's continued directorship of CUFC Holdings he more or less said that he was the only channel of communication with Purepay. He also said he had a 'light touch' involvement in strategy. So essentially JJ is PD's eyes and ears and reports back to PD without necessarily saying much in return.

Never forget the value of compound interest.

Until this debt is cleared, nobody will take it on.Jackson is just there to mitigate any ‘misunderstandings’ and boy have there been a few of those in recent times.

Community stadiums not gonna happen, the council have went all in on expanding the sands centre so they've ne loor. Enabling developments are a thing of the past, most people shop online, more people work at home - no need for big shop/office developments. They're 10-20 years too late all round. It's like saying it's be a great idea to put solar panels on the east stand roof but the attractive feed-in tariffs have been stopped (probably collapse under the weight too, but you could stick them on the petteril end, it's a south facing slope)

Nigel: The reason other cities/clubs have a community stadium is because these clubs owners were proactive and didn’t piss off their council.

As always we leave it too late and put all our eggs into the 1st project which failed at the first hurdle.

If Jenkins and co aren't willing to put anymore in, they should give up all perks - no free match tickets, no free away travel, no free meals etc.

I pity them all - playing Billy Big balls football club owners while Day plays them like a fiddle.

MK said back in the day Carlisle City Council weren't interested even when he was popular. Their stance was legality etc etc even when mentioning other examples. Tbh I don't think the CC have ever had the vision to see anything. Tullie House was a fiasco and went way over budget due to them changing things and messing about . The Sands was rubbish for music due to sound and you could hire the City Hall in Newcastle with more capacity for less so it missed out on folk coming . We have had a couple of issues that have affected it in the last twenty years and whi,e they move police and fire service they throw money at the sands . Will it be any better ? and any less susceptible to floods.
So it's not entirely a club thing the council isn't exactly like others where they are open minded . And it's been like that for as long as I remember.

I agree Bob-it’s a marginal political seat so MPs are reluctant to do anything remotely controversial or daring

The Council is manned by City residents mostly and beyond inviting them to civic centre when we won the league they have done hee haw for the club . And tbh the civic centre thing was a vanity thing for them too . So the thought that they would get involved in this is almost laughable

Border cities are key outposts-Carlisle has massive strategic importance going forwards.The city should be investing heavily in all aspects of it
