With all the houses being built next to the M6, why don't the council, i mean network rail, build a station in that little triangle between the settle and newcastle lines?
Pros: It's green and carbon dioxide and that to go by rail
Cons: I've no idea it's a nature reserve or owt and it probably would attract disruptive harrabs to point and hoot at the metal horses, so I can understand nearby homeowners being pissed off

A simple new Station plays absolute havoc with timetable planning, which is genuinely a science.
You’d have to balance that against the cost and then the revenue potential to see if it would be worthwhile.

That was more or less the location of Carlisle's first railway station before everything was centralised in the Citadel Station.
I'm thinking about investing in a warm ice cream shop, located somewhere in the city centre.
Clearly with the frigid north Cumbrian weather it would be a good fit and has an unexploited USP.

There is currently an archeologic dig taking place near the Eden, which has uncovered significant Roman remains.
Why doesn't the city council act to preserve these remains in situ?
If places like York and Chester can preserve their Roman remains and attract visitors thereby, why can't Carlisle?

Knock down the old one that’s dropping to bits anyway and move all the old shit inside into the citadel
Build a new ground on the site. Conveniently close to the railway station and if you kept one of the dungeons you could always stick Mark the Red Fox in it if he came back and caused some more bother
