The time-honoured tradition is to not announce it to anyone, knock back investment and then say you're just looking after the club for a bit longer even though you really, really don't want to. And that "open book" thing won't work with mysterious billionaires, such fools!

I was involved at MFC due to John Boyle-I put it into admin to sort it out-Terry Butcher was assistant manager with Eric Black at the time and it worked as it cleaned it up in 7 days.No debt,clean wage bill and good exec team running it. Fans now own it with a billionaire-oh the irony.

Out of personal interest, did you or anyone you know ever look into buying into Leeds.
Not suggesting you should, but there must be some right horror stories amongst the club buying fraternity, what with Bates, GFH etc being there. So many rumours which would be interesting to know from a reputable third party.
Seems like debts etc almost sorted out now (apart from to the owner) so would assume they are finally ripe for picking for some decent owners (for a chnage)

Laffy Offline Youth Team Player Posts: 317 Likes received: 287	I was asked about 6/7 years ago on the basis there was a quick deal in the offing at Leeds-just as an investor.I have never had any interest in buying into any club other than CUFC and that was not about money. We bought 10pc of Workington Reds via Motherwell but that was to simply extend our youth reach into England-around the time Carlisle was wrestling with MK.Nothing much came of it.
