Andy's been busy twittering away with updates this afternoon. Here are the main events:

United XI: Hanford, Brough, Troy, Atkinson, Trialist, Smith, Sweeney, Hery, Thompson, Pedro, Rigg

21: Fleetwood ahead from the penalty spot - 1-0

30: Good finish from Rigg after Thompson had done well on the left - 1-1

33: Asamoah on for Rigg

44: Two quick goals from Fleetwood - good strike from the edge of the box and a shot fired into the top corner after a mistake - 3-1

46: Second half under way, Smith replaced by a trialist at half time.

48: Asamoah nicked it and drove forward before finishing well - 3-2

56: Robson and Balanta on for Atkinson and trialist

68: Pedro replaced by Bradbury

73: Hanford replaced by Williams

84: Thompson did well with the interception on the right, he drove forward and found Asamoah in the box who finished well - 3-3

Yes I realised that once I'd posted!

Maybe I should have said why release a player who was pretty much guaranteed to start or be on the bench and keep a guy who had hardly featured and has made absolutely no impact since being given a new contract?

Balanta has made several impacts during a game, but not enough to merit a contract extension to the end of the season.

he is to laid back as a person and footballer to contribute enough for the team ethic Curle is trying to build at the club.

He was on silly wages that Kavanagh offered. Keith proprably enjoyed having him at his disposal but the prospect of bringing two or 3 loans in with his wages sounds a lot better.
