TOPIC: Patrick Brough

Completely disappeared off the radar, yet has another year on his contract.

Was talking to someone at the match tonight who knows a few folk in scouting circles and they can't understand why we don't use him, as he was in notebooks when England U20's were sniffing around, and they mentioned that a team from a higher division had 'made a note of his situation'.

He badly lost form at the start of the season didn't he. I seem to recall some woeful performances.

There's definitely potential there though, hence the new contract.

same level as joyce, but younger. If we have aspirations of league 1, get shot.

Remember his debut against Blackburn, played a cracker that night. Read on the Lincoln board they weren't impressed with him down there. Doesn't look good for the lad which is a shame

But off course it's better fetching people in on month to month loans isn't it rather than bringing our own lads on that have potential. Who played lb last night 2nd half? As Brough would become twice the player what he is. Problem is with curle is that if your face doesn't fit that's it. Sadly that's what's happened with both patch and riggy.

Nowt to do with the fact that neither has looked good enough Dazzy?

I'm all for seeing local youngsters come through and make it in the first team but it shouldn't be to the detriment of the team. They have to be good enough!

It would help young players like Brough if we had a proper reserve side in a competitive league. Occasional bounce games aren't the answer.

I always thought watching Brough that he played with no heart wasn't prepared to get hurt and to me does not have the passion to be a good player if he wanted it bad he would up the ante! Rigg could be another Glen Murray but needs a run of games as he works hard and has that instinct of been in the right place something you can't coach but like people say Wyke, Ibehre are ahead of him!

He was my tip for player of season on here, must've got my left-backs confused! The transformation with Grainger shows what's possible and I saw enough last season to think Brough could be a cracking player for us. Let's see how he starts next season and be patient with him!

Curle is damned either way, If he drops him folk say he's not giving lads a chance, If he plays lads who are not performing and we get beat, folk are shouting for Curle's heed. His job is getting results, no more no less,.

Anyone ever asked Brough if he prefers playing LB or LW?

He's played both for us, if he concentrated on his preferred would maybe help him come on?
