Exeter had a busy day today.

Lloyd James from Orient and Robbie Simpson from Cambridge.

Accringtons keeper left to join Donny. first of many to leave there i would have thought

Mansfield signed striker Danny Rose from Bury.

Most of the ones theyre desperate to keep have already signed contracts that will pay them a certain percentage of next years average squad wage some of those still to sign have been offered similar deals but others have just had straightforward offers which is maybe what the problem with the keeper was but they will get a fee for him as hes under 24 and i would of thought there.d be a limit on what Donny will pay for a keeper of his limited experience.

Not like Windass was dropped is it, he was out for 3 months after a Hernia op. Still managed to score 17 goals this season.

To get the compo off Rangers for Windass and Crooks they have to make them a contract offer those offers were apparently a hell of a lot more that they were expecting them to be by something like x5 of what they were on last year. Now that could be a ploy to up the compo but once they make those offers and the other players get wind of then theyre not gonna play for 500 quid a week anymore are they ? And for the first time in ages theyre going to have money in the kitty from the compo on Windas Crooks and Etheridge to use on increased Wages

They are reportedly only getting 60k compo off rangers for the pair of them.

They couldnt of moved in January as they were both injured and wouldnt of been able to pass a medical

But 400k is the figure being banded about down here and yes what youve offered then does make a difference because the club theyre going to has to better that offer and when its done by pre contract as it gives the selling club a big advantage if the players have been willing to tell them what theyve been offered which i know in Windasses case he has.

Of course they could have moved in January if Rangers wanted them. Joe Garner was still knackered for instance when Forest came in for him.

Garner is a good example. When Demba Ba was leaving West Ham, Stoke cancelled their deal due to failing his medical because of a long term knee condition , didn't stop him signing for Newcastle, Chelsea and Besiktas since.

Clubs have offered to underwrite a specific injury themselves but after being screwed over many times by other mystery injuries suddenly appearing instead so now the club either effectively self insure the player completely or the player passes the medical to the satisfaction of the insuaurance company and i doubt a player recovering from a hernia op [Having recovered from 3 myself ] would even be in a position to undertake a medical never mind pass it.

And do you really think Rangers are that desperate to sign these two ? The word down here is that theyre seen as a project up there and theres even talk of them being loaned back to Stanley if they want them now that theyve been promoted may have been a different story if they werent but theyre now more in the market for Joey Bartons rather than Windass and Crooks

Not league 2, but he was linked with us (by Mullen).... Antoni Sarcevic has signed for Shrewsbury.

Luton have signed Johnny Mullins and Danny Hylton from Oxford.

What do you mean if it wasn't for the fact he can't leave Watford ? He was released by them in 2013 ?

I dont think it is a great signing, To me he looked a bit like Symington, Would knock it past his man and cross it then disappear for 20 mins. from what I've seen of him.

Unless you watch Accrington regularly and can tell me different.

So from memory i think its his partner has a child with a very severe case of something like Autism who attends a very special educational establishment and needs a lot of family support which makes a move for them very difficult and i remember the article saying he was finding the travelling very difficult and as he says yesterday the more successful the teams being the harder it is to manage your travel and commitments

TLLG I think i.ve seen him about half a dozen times since he re signed.and when let loose to play as an out and out wide man hes very effective and provided a lot of the crosses for the front men to score from this season.

The one criticism i would have is that some times he takes on one man too many or more likely takes on the same man one time too many.

We all know he just picks a name and hopes they sign. One day he may get something right. Odds are that he'll get lucky sometime.

Doncaster have just signed Gary McSheffrey.

They've brought in some fairly impressive signing so far. Matthieu Baudry and Tommy Rowe among others.

McSheffrey seems to have been around forever

and apart from his spells at Coventry has done sod all in his career

I thought he was old when he played for Leeds against us. Quick google tells me he'd have been 27.

Glad we dodged that bullet, wind-up merchant Boden was the odious stain who scored the winner at their shit hole last season.

Blackpool have signed Jamille Matt after Fleetwood released him (crazy how Blackpool are signing Fleetwoods rejects!)

Did well on loan at Plymouth this season. Should be a decent signing for them.
