Well, that's at least one of my questions to Mike Zeller fallen by the wayside.

Not sure what I make of this to be honest.

Can't remember who but I think someone suggested there'd be a good news story released just before JN's interview tomorrow. I wonder where they got this idea from... ? Any comment Laffy?

On a totally unrelated note, does anyone know the names of any of Sandie Shaw's hits?

This is a big step in the right direction but there will always be doubts over who makes the final decisions whilst the custodians are anywhere near the club.

Well this has been kept well under wraps. I've got to say I'm very hopeful with this appointment.

The club desperately needed a figurehead CEO. No disrespect to Suzanne and Phil but they both came to the club to take on full time jobs in their own fields of finance and commercial. The CEO is more than a full time job in itself. No way could the club prosper without an experienced figurehead.

I've always found Huddersfield runs well run when I've been there as a fan or working as a snapper.. I wish him the best of luck and hope he can take us forward.

As fans we need a figurehead away from the football side who is media savvy and approachable, I hope he fits the bill.

If any supporters ever thought they weren't being treated as pawns in a game, then this being announced 24 hours before Nixon is due to get a grilling on the radio really should make you think otherwise.

Can't imagine he's taken a pay cut to come here.

The statement from Jenkins is pretty humble too. This must be seen as good news. If you criticise everything they do you will just come across as bitter and negative.

Aye, and what are the chances that the signing they were hoping to announce earlier this week will be announced later today/first thing tomorrow?

He's an accountant (not sure if that's good or bad) but his years at Huddersfield look impressive.

Just another puppet for the three amigos to hide behind and JN hanging on to his jollies job. No change in other words as long as the three amigos are still here the decline will continue.

It seems a decent appointment on the face of it, experienced, competant and well thought of sort of guy.

That said, it seems out of kilter with everything else that has happened. Could this be the pre-cursor to a sale, new CEO coming at the behest of the purchaser? Well, we can dream, can't we?

He seems to have a pretty decent record, can't see him wanting to taint his reputation just to allow the holding club board to hide behind him. The guy's only just been announced and he's already on a hiding to nothing!

Everyone wants them out the club ideally, but if there's nobody there to take over that they're happy to sell to, surely this is a positive step?

The new guy no matter how good he is wont make a difference unless there is new owners as no one with any sense is going to give any cash to the prent owners after the way they have taken a club from a position of strength into the state we are in now.

A step in the needed direction following on from KC's approach as manager. Looking at his experience he won't be a puppet. Good luck to him.

But looking at his picture two words come to mind CORPORATE and SMARMY just the sort of CEO you would expect a shit like Nixon to get excited about Jenkins has clearly just done as hes told once again.

Some comments from the Hudders board on hearing the news;

Curle reporting directly to him. Can see him decking him or quitting within six months.
He's a decent accountant but knows absolutely nothing about football.
Assume Clibbens jnr will be Carlisle bound too then?

Or;
That's simply not true though is it. He knows plenty about football, and he helped transform our football club and (along with Dean) dragged it into the 21st century.
His tenure ran its course and he left our club.
Good luck to him. I always found him to personable, loyal, and decent fella. Carlisle will be a better club for his arrival.

Met Clibbens several times at southern Q&A;'s and always found him a decent guy. I went to the Youth Cup SF game a couple of seasons ago at Fulham and was minding my own business when Nigel came over to have a chat for 5 minutes or so, along with Ross Wilson. Got to know Wilson as well.
I think NC did a good job for Town overall. Helped steady the ship. Town have moved on now and it remains to be seen what Winter achieves. Best of luck to him at Carlisle. I could bump into him again at Crawley v Carlisle next season!

Only worry for me is that he is used to being a puppet, as the strings were clearly pulled by the owner with them as well.

According to my Huddersfield Town supporting mate he left at the end of the season but was known to the general public he would be leaving in February.

Yeah, that's what I mean. If he'd had an offer from CUFC a few months back I imagine he would have to hand in his notice and either a) go on gardening leave for a few months or b) spend a few months clearing his desk.

Either way, I don't think we should interpret that February announcement as some kind of indication he's been mooning around looking for a new role.

This guy could be the Richard Branson of footballing administration but, as other clubs show far too often, it depends what his remit is and how much he is allowed to get on with it.
Unfortunately, current experience shows he may not be allowed to.

And my experience tells me if he was any good hed of set up his own company and made his money that way rather than working for the likes of Grant Thornton stealing a living liquidating peoples businesses.

According to the Huddersfield examiner he left in February but has since then just been completing a couple of projects that hed been working on for them.

Sounds like a very good appointment if you look at it without the baggage that surrounds our club... good experience and has achieved some decent results. IF he has autonomy to make his own decisions then it should be a positive appointment.

How come you lot are missing the point? Not only is he coming in as ceo but he will chair the 1921 company board. This means AJ will be dealing with him when discussions return to loan conversion as the AJ loans have been made to the 1921 company. Puppet or not he is going to be centre stage over the next few months.
