Unless the council(s) have the tens of millions lying about to pay for this super-duper leisure/concert/swimming/football/athletics complex that farrell and some in the council have talked about it's not happening. And if they do find that cash there'll be 20 years of inquiries as people go "hang on, where was that money when we wanted xyz"?

The only other slightly viable alternative is private money - and the council nixed the kingmoor plan because the amount of retail needed to make it viable to chuck a stadium in as a freebie would destroy the city centre - and then we are back to the billionaire straw clutching

The club is totally in a corner, the only economic solution is to bulldoze the most decrepit half of the ground to save on maintenance and the remainder would easily hold our average crowd. I did have an idea they could do that and then build some flats on the bulldozed bits but after 2 floods in 10 years they won't get permission.

I wouldn't be surprised if we had the least valuable plot of land with a stadium on it in the country

If we had some 21st century owners at the club, it would've been sorted years ago.

Nixon deliberately implies that the stadium move is dead ti take some heat off himself, he then brings in a new CEO and coerces him into saying that the stadium move is back on the cards, thereby deflecting any blame for himself.

If you think about it our new CEO has got himself a right nice little job. £100k a year to not make any real decisions himself and to be told exactly what to say. I'm actually jealous. Easy f*cking money that.
