Had a conversation about keegan and bremner in the charity shield tonight. That was a good scrap.
They obviously didn't like each other.
Roy Keane had a few opponents he didn't like either such as shearer.

Which other on field hatreds or grudges between players can you recall?
It would be good to hear lummys views from his playing days. Have you noticed or know of any serious dislikes between certain players over the years?

Charlie Adam always seems hell-bent on destruction when playing Tottenham.
He's had straight reds against them at least twice - maybe more.
There doesn't appear to be a particular player he is after though.
He just tries to smash everybody.
I've no idea why Spurs seem to bring out the lunatic in him.

I remember reading a story re two Sunderland fullbacks in the 1930's.
They couldn't,stand the site of each other and never spoke either during a game, or in training.
The situation wasn't helped by the fact that they both lived in Club Houses next door to each other.
When they had to report to Roker either for training or a game, they both left their houses, one turned right, the other left, and walked to different ends of the street so they could both catch separate buses, and not be forced to travel together.

Andy Cole hated Teddy Sheringham when they played together at Man Utd, and it stemmed from Sheringham not shaking Cole's hand when Cole came on for him for his England debut!

Andy Cole just comes across as a massive sulk with his reason. Obvious that Sheringham just wasn't happy about being taken off.

John Terry and the Ferdinands

Oliver Khan and Jens Lehmann.

Stefan Effenburg and Lothar Matthäus. Only know this one because I picked Effenburg's autobiography up in a charity shop. Has a chapter titled 'what Lothar Matthäus knows about football' followed by a blank page. Matthäus being a pundit at the Euro's reminded me of it.

The Dutch Euro 96 team.

Doesn't Sheringham come across as a massive sulk getting subbed?

Should a player ever be happy being subbed ?
