A lovely day for the lads first day back, it's a whole new season starting today.

Always feels like a new start and can't help being optimistic, here's to a title challenge year!

Hopefully some decent trialists show up. A good centre back would be nice to unearth.

I think last season they were back at the end of June, it used to be the first week in July, so it is getting earlier. Mind this whole year is whizzing by out of control. I was going to pop through to get a season ticket today only to find the Early Buy finished on the 18th., totally disorganized as ever!

We go back earlier than most and then the players get an extended period off in a couple of weeks.

An extended period off once the season starts is usually the way it goes.

Just seen a vine clip from the club on twitter of Danny Grainger in the new training kit. Looks the right shade of blue and quite smart, although not sure what goes on with the sleeves. Hopefully there will be more later.

Couldn't spot Jabo, Miller or Mcqueen in them viedos. Jabo may have a knock or something but not looking good on the other two.

Jabo trains differently to others, so maybe that explains it.

But yeah not looking good on McQueen and Miller

Hope there is another permanent striker lined up we are a bit short of cover and competition up front with only 3 strikers.

Remember we have over 2 months until the transfer window closes. Try not to worry too much about only having 3 strikers.

Mc Queen, Miller, Jabo and Lambe were all missing.
Lambe has just got back from international duty.
Jabo was absent, I wasn't told why but I was told he would be with the squad within the next few days.
Miller or McQueen haven't been seen or heard from since the end of last season, so I'm pretty sure we'll see neither of them again.

If they were on the pitch it was right at the very edge of it, nowhere near the wickets/bowling area.

That's disappointing. I would have hoped at least one of them would stay.

Last season was boths first football league season. I can't imagine higher up clubs would be queuing up to sign them, but may be wrong.

I would say McQueen was our best development prospect with fantastic pace and energy but Keith didn't give him enough game time. Miller seemed to fall out of favour after the party incident and no doubt fancies a change - possibly north of the border.

McQueen got more than enough time to show what he can do, we keep saying prospect because at this minute he probably isn't good enough to be first choice week in week out. 20 starts isn't enough?

For me i'd like him to stay but if he goes good luck to him, He rejected another year at spurs to come here, so if he does go onto better things then fair play for taking the risks.

I don't know if that's true. He had a couple of injuries over the Xmas period and in Feb, but was pretty much a regular for most of the season and march onwards.

Would think Lambe due to Internationals?

So in a nut shell...

Lambe back on Monday, extra time due to internationals.

Jabo has been given extra time off but will be back.

McQueen and Miller negotiating. But Miller has plenty of other offers to consider.

Something wrong if Jabo needs more than 6 and a half weeks off? Extra couple of days? Mid-season rest maybe, but not ready for first day of pre-season, poor form...

Can see Wyke and Miller edging him out the first team scene this coming season...

Maybe he's been injured so needs an extra week to catch up with fitness before being back for training. Maybe the days off are something to do with his daughter. We don't know the facts despite that interview.

And I agree, I'm half expecting Wyke & Miller to be the first choice pair. Although if Ibehre performs like he did on the final day of last season, he'll be in our starting 11 that's for sure.

Quote from Curle interview on website:

“What we won’t do is run before we can walk,” he commented. “They’ve had a day of introduction and we’ve come back a lot earlier than many other teams would even consider. Our pre-season is designed to take them step by step, so they also get a break in the middle for four days."

I think Wyke will be up top on his own next year to start with, Devitt in behind. Adams and Lambe likely on the wings. i would like to see us bring in 1 more wide man.

Gonna take a guess that Cambridge will be in for Miller.

Potentially we are five players short of the squad KC said he wanted if Miller and McQueen don't re-sign.
Maybe Miller doesn't want to sign now his name is on another players shirt lol.
