To be fair to Curle he has at least identified that the defence is the key area to get right.... we have had a massive issue there for a few seasons. We can't really comment that much until we see the new defensive unit play together. Hopefully it will be a big improvement and we can reduce the number of goals against by 15-20.

If we're honest here, it really wouldn't have taken any sort of managerial genius to work out that we've been letting too many goals in, and that it is important to make some sort of start on sorting our defence out. In fact if he hadn't noticed that I'd have been pretty concerned seeing as how he was a pretty decent player in defensive areas.

The fact that the previous 2 managers didn't recognise the problem and work to fix it was a massive concern, and reflects very badly on the people who kept handing them contracts to make the situation worse.

“I’m not going to hark back to last season on too many occasions because it’s about progression and moving on. That starts from the first get together on Thursday morning and will be part of everything we do as we go through July and into the game against Mansfield.”

We missed out on the playoff's last season by the equivalent of seven wins 21 points, knock twenty goals of that conceded column and we may of made it. We can only hope as even the law of averages would suggest were due a season without conceding 70+ goals ..... here's hoping. :blink:
