Noticed on his instagram yesterday that he was down in Peterborough playing golf with Luke James.

Didn't notice him on any of the training pictures yesterday.

Injured? U turn on his contract?

The clue is in the fact he's not signed?

Paltry 6 month deal, hardly appetising when the Manager seemed to not want to play you after signing?

He'll have been offered something better somewhere with more chance of playing...

Very strange. He was on the radio a week or two back and it sounded like he'd accepted offer and was looking forward to new season.

According to twitter he's up from playing golf and gan to races tonight. No mention of Carlisle United.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read a few weeks back that he'd signed the contract that was offered.

I think it was agreed in principle which I assume means he's completely free to take up another offer still. It's a shame if he's gone but very weird that neither he nor the club would mention it.

You're right yeah. He agreed to sign it on his return to pre season. www.carlisleunited.co.uk//news/article/d...e-blues-2480215.aspx

He's obviously had a better offer.

I wonder if this means Troy or CMW will be back in the plans.

Oh well, he'll probably get more opportunities there. Maybe if he has a good season and gets plenty of football we can go back in for him next summer.

So now we either need to keep one of Troy/CMW or sign someone to replace Buddle.

Can't help but wonder whether he would have made this move had CMW and Troy left over the summer.

He probably looked at it and is thinking as things stand he could be 4th or 5th choice centre back.

Seems a very strange move to me.
Reading between the lines, he was going to be loaned to Gateshead for the start of the season anyway, to get game time.
So he would have been playing for them regardless.
He would have been better being contracted to a league club and going out on loan and starring for them, then coming back and forcing his way into the side.

obviously not deemed good enough for a starting place

none of us on here can really argue as we aint seen him play apart from pools game

no great deal found it hard to believe people putting him in there starting line up for first game

More a case of Gateshead willing to chuck a larger wedge his way and less travelling time for the lad I'd guess!

The smackheeds at blyth arent gonna be too chuffed with this as they hate gateshead.

Irony is our blyth friendly was part of the deal for him coming to us. So saved spartans 500 quid.

Genuinely gutted about this one, looked bright v Hartlepool and was really looking forward to seeing him get more game time this year. I had him down as a future captain, big loss in my eyes.

Future captain?, based on one good half against pools where the ball was mainly in their half. the second half he got bullied by Harewood.

Interview in N&S;, can't find it online yet, he says he was told he wouldn't be part of first team plans as he hadn't progressed enough in the eyes of the management team, and that he thought Curle was afraid to play him due to the teams position and possible consequences.

The lad probably had no future from the minute he signed, Curle was looking for inexpensive defensive cover and found Buddle, sold him the dream that all recent incoming players seem to quote in their first interview, but he hardly featured and was never more than cover. Curle is putting together what he considers to be a stronger defensive unit and no longer has any use for him. It's seems harsh on the lad but it is from opportunity's such as this that a lot of players get the big break from non league and had circumstances been different via a last minute winning goal from a corner or an unusual act of bravery in the line of defence perhaps madam destiny would of shined on him, but she didn't. ;)
