Could we afford him ? even if Newcastle wanted 500k for him it would be a good deal as in a year or 2 he will be worth a load more,speculate to accumulate is what our BOD should be thinking,of course we all know they won't.

They will want a million but dont think they will sell him as Newcastle could be in the Championship next season and thats his level I reckon.

If he gets a new deal at Newcastle, I think they'll be looking to loan him out to league 1 at the very least next season. So I reckon if we went up we'd have a chance of taking him on loan again, but if we're still in league 2...no chance.

Rumour a couple of weeks back was a couple of Championship Clubs want him in January, Birmingham being one of them...

Newcastle need him playing regularly, otherwise no point in loaning him out.

So they'd have to decide whether they think he'd be a regular in the championship or just a bench warmer.

I don't think he's ready for the championship just yet.

If we get promoted this year there'll be a reasonable chance that we can get him on loan again next season. He seems really happy here, and is a shining star at the moment.

Newcastle cant recall him. He's here for rest of season.

If from Newcastle's point of view it is a trouble free loan, he is happy and playing then I would think they would let him be. Is the difference in his development going to be that great over 5 months? Unless they want to try him in the Championship because they know they will be playing there next season

I seem to recall Lee Dykes saying when we signed Gillead and Gillesphey that he hoped it would be the start of a good working relationship with Newcastle. Newcastle should know that recalling Gillead could potentially be very bad for that relationship. He's getting games every week here. If they want to see if he can get games at a higher level, then fine, but wait till next season. He's still only young. He'll still be young next season too.

Made light work of a very good player in Mitch Hancox yesterday, if we still have him at the end of January my expectations for the season may rise.

He was partly at fault for their goal yesterday as he gave the ball away sloppily. Once he gets that part of his game right knowing when to pass or take someone on he'll do great things in the game. Very exciting to watch, as said above made light work of a good player in Mitch Hancox and his delivery is superb. He could well be the difference between us being promoted or not. If we are promoted I could see him possibly spending a second season with us as it'd improve the standard he's currently playing at, keep him settled and keep him close to Newcastle. Is he still playing for their reserves as well? Sure I read that somewhere

His mistake led to the goal but to be fair he lost it beside the tunnel trying to get down the wing not a bad place to try and go past your man. Plenty of opportunities to clear and stop the attack after that

He did give the ball away for the goal yesterday but the two passes which Crawley played were brilliant and the ball was in the back of our net within about 5 seconds, great goal. His tracking back was first class yesterday, time and again he tracked a player 50/60 yards and put a challenge in on the edge of our box when things were looking dangerous, a rare quality from a winger. The only criticism of him yesterday was his unwillingness to make runs beyond the full back to receive the ball, Ibhere played a perfect one-two with him in the first half in the corner of the paddock but he didn't go for the return and it happened a few times when he laid the ball off to Atkinson who was looking for a ball down the line in return but Gilliead wasn't willing. Suppose if you can beat a man as easy as he can he's more comfortable doing that.

He's good but he's in league 2 on loan to get experience and improve. Main weaknesses I see are strength for shielding or being shielded from the ball, reluctance to fully committ to 50/50 challenges and decision making for when to release the ball on occasions

Sure I've read somewhere the Barcodes already said that their kids out on loan are to be given a spell in each league, so if they're on loan at Carlisle in league 2 then they'll be loaned to a league 1 club next time, then a Championship club the loan after (provided they're progressing at the desired rate)?
If they do a Haris Vukic then they'll be dumped at the appropriate level they flop at.

it surprises me that he hasn't had league football before us.

As Carwash has alluded too he'll need to beef up first to be ready for Championship as it is a very physical league. A better watch than the Premier League in my opinion where it's people throwing themselves down every two minutes anytime someone breathes near them.
