Let's put it this way.
If he was to be sold this summer to another club, it would no doubt be for the expected paltry 250k - 500k.
If that club were to then sell him on in a year's time, I guarantee it would be for into the millions.
So can anyone join the dots and explain why we shouldn't cut out the middle man, and give him an asking price of what he's actually worth...instead of taking the usual approach of snatching off the hand of whoever makes the first bid, effectively lining that club's pockets for them?
Edit: 'Because we're in League 2' isn't a valid reason in my opinion..
It's because we're in league two like or not, the championship is a proving ground and if he still shines there that's when his value sky rockets because it's less of a risk to take for the big money crew. Also if we put a too higher price tag on his head it would be unfair to him and could inhibit his prospects, the value of anything is determined by what the buyer is prepared to pay.
