Oldest trick in the book, he wants to get into a war of words so we lose concentration ahead of Saturday. The best thing Keith can do is say no comment when Jon Colman asks the question.

A waterlogged pitch is one thing, a stadium with no facilities fit for use is quite another. Man needs to give himself a shake!

Will happily change places with them, a waterlogged pitch for a completely flooded ground.

Hasn't he given snide comments about us before, after we beat them at home last season? Or am I just thinking that up

Either way, trying to get under our skin or not - still a grade A tw@t

I think this will just fire our players up a bit more.
I hope we are going to give John Coleman the Accrington manager some stick on Boxing Day as their is no need for that sort of comment.

I linked the artical but should have quoted this bit
"We are now games behind Carlisle. We've had two postponements and they've been allowed to play elsewhere and I don't think it's right or fair.
"I don't think it's fair on the rest of the 23 teams who have to go to Carlisle when some teams won't have to go there.
"I just don't think it's anywhere near any shape or form fair.
"I've got nothing against Carlisle, I wish them all the best in their ventures and what they do, but it's shifting the rules.
"I've got every sympathy for the people that have lost belongings and homes, I'm not decrying any of that - I'm just saying strictly from a football point of view it's an unfair advantage to play at another ground."

Hence the cats disgust .

I suppose he does have a point in some respect
we get to play our postponed games on championship quality pitches whilst others may have games called off or play on sodden pitches if weather crap
possible we are ahead of other teams in terms of games played come end of January despite unplayable ground

not sure hes trying to wind us up just putting his point across don't think hes been disrespectful or anything and I don't agree with him due to extraordinary circumstances but he is allowed his point of view

On the flip side, where does our home advantage go to?

I'd love to flood his house under 3 metres of water and stand outside when he tries to leave and tell him that he's not allowed use of a hotel and has to sleep at home for 3 months

How on earth have we possibly got an advantage ? Playing on unfamiliar grounds , a 100 mile from home, with half/third the usual crowd. Surely it is to everyone else's advantage not ours!
And we have lost the hartlepool game and maybe more.
What a complete idiot.
Even if this is an attempt at mind games it is inconsiderate, ill advised and ignorant.

Take away the floods, we haven't had a game called off for a waterlogged pitch since the 2005/06 season - the summer after which we had our pitch replaced.

Accrington meanwhile, have 2 or 3 a season at least due to the poor quality of their pitch.

He's obviously on a bit of a wind but there is merit in what he's getting at.

You commit to 23 home games and 23 away to get a fair outcome to the league. Everybody is equal in that respect and nobody can complain.

Just for arguments sake most Carlisle fans would say playing at Ewood Park is a disadvantage and therefore an advantage to Plymouth.

So in respect of this fixture Plymouth have an advantage over those teams that will have to travel to BP to play their game.

This should never be allowed to happen other than in extreme circumstances. Carlisle could easily play 4/5/6 games on Tuesday nights without too many problems and therefore maintain the integrity of the league.

I await you replies! :cheer:

The more I think about what Coleman said the more I think he's actually spot on.

Regardless of advantages or disadvantages you're more than likely get skewed results playing at different venues which would have a knock on effect for all the other clubs

This could ultimately cost promotion or play off places or relegation The Football League haven't thought it through at all.

The Notts County result will be declared null and void and replayed, due to the unfair advantage Notts gained in the match being at Deepdale.
The Plymouth match will be postponed.
We will be excluded from the FA Cup due to our inability to fulfill our fixture.
Accrington will be awarded our place as a fair play award for highlighting the injustice.

I see what you are trying to say nobby but these are exceptional circumstances and no one benefits from this. You could argue that whoever has to play Stanley away in the winter has a disadvantage to those who play there in the summer or spring due to their terrible pitch. He doesn't mention that though.
He gets home games while they are flying whilst we have to play somewhere unfamiliar . Advantage them.
They have had two games lost and we have lost the Hartlepool game. Hardly a massive difference in last fixtures there either.

Who can say what effect a neutral ground will have on the teams. Surely it is a disadvantage for Carlisle because we have fewer supporters there on an unfamiliar ground. The quality of the BP pitch was as good as any at championship level but it can't be ideal for either league two team playing in a 30k capacity stadium with 4k in it.

The man is a tool.

I understand where Coleman is coming from but don't agree with him.
Any team who plays us at BP this season when we get back is justified to claim its not fair they didnt get to play us on the perfect pitch we had before the floods. For all the good the groundstaff will do it will never be the same standard as before the flood so half the league will have had a brilliant pitch to play on half wont, is that fair.
Away from BP how is it fair when any club opens a newly refurbished stand half way through the season. Some teams will have played in front of a capacity limited 3 sided stadium whereas others might play infront of 4 sided filled stadium like happened at Wolves and Bristol City.
How was it fair for Carlisle to play Plymouth away on a Tuesday Night and Everyone else on Saturdays, it wasnt! Whilst we all want a fair league little things change from game to game that make it unfair yet we accept them, a Homer versus away referee is another one.

well. Coleman is certainly going to regret his opinion being published.

Curle, like he managed the Paynter/Hartlepool, will let his football team do the talking in response.

lets hope we get a good result out of it all, and then justice will be done.

waterlogged pitch and a flood should never be compared.

What you are on about though is just the usual variables in a season. Playing at Plymouth on a Tuesday night or Accrington on a nice day is just the luck of the draw and there are many ups and downs for every team during a season.

It may seem a bit harsh but unless your stadium is burnt to the ground you should have to fulfil your fixtures at your own ground wherever possible. Who knows but playing at home every Tuesday might have been great! :cheer:

The Football League have made an unprecedented move (as far as I can remember) in moving these games and at the end of the day it isn't fair on any of the teams in League Two (including Carlisle).

There's so many variables involved with EVERY game that is played ANYWHERE which makes his argument irrelevant.

The only thing I want to see is my team play better than the other team, regardless of where or when we play them.

Can't see your reasoning there.

When the league two fixtures were worked out at the start of the season where did Deepdale and Ewood Park come into it? And why do some teams have to play their away Carlisle fixtures there and others have to travel to Carlisle.

It's not a level playing field is all that I am saying and anybody suggesting that (like Coleman) has a valid point.

But none of it will matter when we're crowned champions in May.

Apples to oranges. Our pitch is actually playable, unlike his. It's the (FL required) stadium and it's facilities (players & public) that are unfit for use due to exceptional circumstances.
Pros & cons, mostly cons for the home side.

13.6 Each Club shall register its ground with The League and no Club shall remove to another ground (whether on a temporary or a permanent basis) without first obtaining the written consent of the Board, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld and the Board shall be entitled, if granting consent, to impose such conditions as it deems appropriate in all the circumstances.

Permission granted by the league as no reason not to in the regs. Regs signed up to by all league clubs. Stop twining. get on with life.

Since the floods happened:

Played Welling - away
Played Oxford - away
Played Notts Co at PNE - this was such an advantage to Notts, that they lost by 3 goals
Away to Accrington - massive advantage to them as league 2 teams are used to playing on actual football pitches, not in a puddle
Home to Hartlepool - postponed
Home to Plymouth - instead of travelling all the way North to Cumbria, Plymouth are given a massive advantage by playing the game at Plainmoor, Torquay! Oops, nope - they have to travel up to Lancashire. Not really much of an advantage for Argyle there then is it?
Home to Yeovil - at Bloomfield Road, a cup game, so no effects on league 2 at all.

To sum up, he's talking out of his arse.

To say "I'm really upset" and "I don't think it's anywhere near fair" is moronic, insensitive and childish, especially when Cumbria is flooding for a 3rd time, and people are homeless and having Christmas ruined.

Tosser.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!111111!!!

He's made it worse - now he can't decide if it's an advantage to us, or our opponents.
Then he says it's easier to prepare for the game on the 26th because we don't have a game on the 28th. Well, they've played 2 less league games, so they're better rested...advantage to them then surely?

He's an even bigger tool now.

I think 'Crunch' that some people considering what they have been through, need comments from people like Coleman like they need a bullet in the head. Some people (me included) have simply had enough of these bloody floods. so to be reminded about 'how hard done by' by his team has been by a [censored] Scouser kind of sticks in your throat.

But the comments were about football fixtures, nothing to do with peoples flooded houses etc.

I get that he's got it completely wrong, the 2 situations are incomparable...but I think some of our fans (particularly on social media) are over reacting.

Anyway I think it will backfire, because our fans will now be fired up for this if they weren't already, and that will transfer over to the players and we will stuff them on boxing day. That's if their pitch isn't waterlogged!
