Good for him. There's a Nando's just round the corner from Boundary Park on the Elk Mill Retail Park.

Didn't Oldham try and sign Ched Evans until the fans revolted?

I wasn't implying he was, more that he was another player with a controversial history, remember the hue and cry on the board when Kav signed CMW?

Oldham signed Lee Hughes so their bar is set pretty low when it comes to morals.

CMW came with baggage but as far as I am aware he was a decent professional during his time here.

There are the nandos/pie eating stories but I think that was harmless jesting.

I do get the impression he was not the brightest though and possibly doesn't "get" what being a successful footballer entails.

He also made a weird comment via twitter yesterday along the lines of "if it was colder, can you imagine how much snow there'd be".

That suggests to me he's an Immature kid or just a bit simple!

I thought Murphy was very good the other week for Crawley. I also agree were fine for forwards.

Murphy was decent against us, 1 of them I wouldn't mind seeing in a Carlisle shirt. Don't know where he'd fit in in our current side though

This "Journalist" needs to be told..............old news man - what is he hoping to achieve by raking all this up again. Feel a bit sorry for CMW, Hope he gets taken on, possible he was home sick up here, don`t know but he has enough to make it. Good Luck son.

I still think CMW'll come good, has pace and he reads the game very well. Could be another one we regret letting go

Can't agree at all. He did very little in his time here and has quite rightly been let go.

Each to his own, but the lad has youth on his side and as has been said perhaps he`s a late developer in the maturity department. At least he was given a chance by Kav and played a few under him. Remember his mam and girlfriend sat beside us on his debut game, when he played an absolute blinder. Not sure exactly what happened.

I think what happened has affected him so much that I honestly can't see him ever making it.

Hope you`re wrong db - you don`t become a bad player overnight and he certainly has ability...but perhaps he dwells on stuff yeah!

I'd say it might be a bit more deep rooted than just dwelling on stuff. We have also had plenty players that have become bad overnight so to speak. Marrow being one but the one that stands out to me was Andy Couzens. Went from playing in the premier league to not getting a game for us in no time.

I think the thing that let him down was his time spent inside at her majesty's pleasure. That's the most important age for a footballer to develop, because of what he did he's never had that and seems to be stuck in the youth team/developmental football stage

Summerbell was another, though he had deep rooted stuff going on.

CMW has the pace and more than enough technical ability to succeed at a far higher level than we're currently at. But his reading of the game is very poor: too often he doesn't follow his runner, which is a bit of a career shortener for a centre half and played a part in our woeful defensive record in the last two seasons.

Experience and games might make all the difference but I can't see many league sides giving him that. Reckon a north west conference side like Macclesfield or Tranmere could be the best place for him to rebuild his career.

Agree he was responsible for a few getting past him , but rather than coach him he got dropped. Surprised KC couldn`t make owt of him given he played the same defensive position. And wouldn`t agree he couldn`t read the game, he could spray a pass 40yards out to the right wing no bother. New Year new chance I hope, nice lad.

I cant see how Curle can be blamed for dropping him and getting someone better in. Raynes or Ellis may not be as technically gifted but i know who id rather have playing. Still good luck to him. This prob sounds like im anti CMW but im not, id have loved him to succeed for us in fact first few games he played i used to put a couple of quid on him for first goalscorer.

Well yeah am really meaning last season when we couldn`t afford to have a weak link at the back, but hey he wasn`t the only one last season. I would have thought close season KC would have got more out of him, but it`s history now.

At first he looked like some player and the kind we could have sold on for big money. That never happened of course but I always liked him. He must have had something missing and that was probably the right attitude on the training ground.

He came across as a decent lad too who made a horrendous mistake that will haunt him and hurt others all his life. I wish him well and hope things work out for him. So long as he is playing the journalists will dredge up his past.
