Jabo is more than just a hoof it up to his head target man. I actually think he's more effective when the ball is played into his feet. At the start of the season when we were quite simply refusing to play any long balls at all, Jabo was on fire scoring at a rate never seen before in his career.

Yeah of course we knew Jabo was good with the ball at his feet, as we Carlisle fans have seen him many times over the years. Obviously I didn't know or expect how prolific he would be for us. That has been a big bonus.

With Higdon I wouldnt know what to expect

Sheffield Utd fans don't seem to think much of him, looks a bit sh*t at first glance but on the off chance this is true Dykes must have seen something different as he did in Jabo. Source is iffy to say the least as well, in fact looking back at some of the rumours they posted in the summer I'd say this is most likely complete bull. Here's a couple posted by the same account over summer:

Whether folk think he's a target man, sh*t or whatever is irrelevant. Many thought the same about Jabo, journeyman, poor goalscoring record, past it etc etc, those that did have been left with egg on their faces! At the end of the day we're all in a position now where we should trust Curle and Dykes to get it right as their signings on the whole have had a positive impact on a) our survival last year and b) our promotion push this. I'm not certain about this source but if Michael Higden joins whos to say he won't bag 10+ goals and fire us to promotion?

He may not be up for Curle's incentivised wage structures

I didn't win the bet. No doubt he was a pretty big name player a couple of years back, perhaps he enjoyed himself in Holland and came back a different player. I wouldn't say it's completely dead going on last year when Curle said we hadn't been tracking Chris Porter's situation at Sheffield United and then lo and behold two weeks later Curle admitted he turned us down instead of a move to Colchester because he wanted to stay in League One.
