Quite a strange promotion for me, from a Barnet marketing point of view. If I was a Barnet fan I'd want them to be doing this as a gesture of goodwill toward Bees fans, during this busy period of fixtures.

Also, as an aside, Carlisle fans can have them half price because of Desmond.

Also, according to Jon Colman Barnet won't be refunding the difference to those that had pre bought before this offer.

I bought my tickets last week also.

I'll be banging hard on their ticket office window Saturday for half my money back!

I'm apoplectic with rage at this offer......

It's nothing to do with Desmond or Frank or any other bl**dy storm. It's to do with poor pre-sales. How many CUFC tickets have been sold 100+ why can't they refund that money!!!! WHY, coz loyal football fans are sh*t in the eyes of football owners and administrators, mugs to be pushed around and laughed at - "Bought your tickets before we NORMALLY put the price up hahahahah.... well this time we've cut the price and coz of your LOYALTY we will keep the difference" - not even an offer of a pint/tea/coke and a pie. When will football grow up and start looking after its supporters and STOP taking the p$ss out of us. If we didn't turn up they would miss us. How many Directors are paying for their seats, programmes, food and drink.....even travel (Virgin trains offer very good deals for directors I hear - freebies)

I'm calculating how many miles I have travelled for CUFC games and this is what you get in return.......it beggars belief.

Wonder if we'd have seen a bit of a different approach had this candidate got the most votes a few months back ;)

I too would be hacked off at the "No Refund" stance, pleased I hadn't bought in advance, but as they were same price on the day I was not fussed. Maybe they will have a change of heart, seems unfair on those that were the most committed?
I have just bought mine off the Barnet site, if anyone else is doing the same - you must click on the "Promotional packages" link before selecting seats or the area of the ground you require.

100% correct badgers. And to think theres incredibly stupid people thats unhappy that i tweeted my disgust, beggers belief.

They aren't going to refund anyone so its not an offer of goodwill but as you say for poor sales.

I've just calculated how many miles I have travelled to see the blues so far this season - 10174 miles and counting. I'm not asking for a medal or anything else just a bit of bl**dy fairness when buying a ticket for a match.......J*sus wept, is football so tainted with arrogance and half hearted gestures that giving fans a fair price is beyond them....It's not just our dear Sepp Blatter that's rotten, but so much else with football. I'm sure, if I could make my way to Barnet before Sat, I could get a refund on tickets handed back and then buy some at the new price, but that's not the point! What about Cumbrian based fans who bought tickets, places on the bus etc etc WHO would reimburse them???? NOBODY, COZ NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!

It reminds me of when we travelled to MK for that game which was called off. MK decided to give 800 free tickets to Carlisle for the re-arranged game. By the time I phoned up they had gone and I had to buy 2! We missed out as they were handed to the supporters club for distribution, every Tom, Dick and Harry got free entry and hundreds of spares were un-used.
So don't get too hacked off about it - I was really bugged at that, but didn't let it ruin my day/night!!

Will call Barnet, but if they say you have to exchange at ground before Sat......not sorted. Anyone living in Carlisle could try getting refund and then buying cheap tickets or wait to buy at ground, will depend if Carlisle can give refund, if unable to do so.......not sorted. Why can't Barnet arrange with CUFC to give refund or offer refund on the day, say before 1.00pm??

[50% off all tickets to Barnet v Carlisle United!
All tickets will be half price for the clash with the Cumbrians
.

This a very straightforward headline. Nowhere in the article does it suggest that all those have bought tickets will be excluded from this offer.

So I suggest all of those who have already purchased tickets contact Barnet by email, request a refund and thank them, in anticipation, for their generosity.
And then await your replies.

I rung the Barnet ticket office earlier and asked about the refunds, got told that it's the ticket office manager that I need to speak to but he wasn't in today but to call tomorrow and ask for him then. If not I'll be heading to cbs to get a refund then will buy again from cbs

I can understand people being a bit miffed at this but ... "apoplectic with rage".... really?

Surely a bit of common sense will prevail when they realise that this who bought early are missing out. Surely they are able to refund d ticket sales - at Carlisle you can return tickets up until kick off and get refunded. Can't see any reason why this isn't possible hear.

Failing that, is it really worth having a seizure over an extra £8 or so. By your own admission you've done 10000 miles supporting Carlisle so obviously have the commitment, time and money available.

It is pretty poor form to announce a ticket offer after sales have started though! Tinpot clubs in a tinpot league.

I know it's £6 I'll be owed for me (u19 and a carer), but it's the principle. Why should I pay full whack for buying before the day and fellow Cumbrians and Barnet fans get half price because Barnet have been lazy with their late offer?

Obviously I was willing to pay full price, but now it's half price I want my money back as it is my money they're trying to keep. That £6 will buy me another (probably shite) pint on Saturday

Mullen, I've just been into cbs whilst down that end of town and spoke to tarn about it. She's confused as to why Barnet have done it half way through sales as well, but she kindly refunded the full sale and let me keep the tickets I bought. She can do this for others as well. Hopefully we will all get sorted

Jumpforfun - you are quite right the £23 is not serious enough for a seizure and it's good to read that Carlisle are providing the refund. As we are in Surrey we will contact Barnet direct. However, the reason for the annoyance was that this 'gesture' was not a gesture at all, but a lame attempt to attract a bigger crowd due to poor pre-sales. The fact that CUFC went along with thanking them, yet knowing they were not going to give refunds to fans who had already paid full price when turning up for the game was anti-fan and typical of the way clubs treat their supporters - the life blood of the club.

Yes, £23 quid doesn't break the bank but I would rather spend that on CUFC than Barnet. Also, it's the principle of it and the lack of consideration of fans who act to buy tickets from the club.

Dear Richard

Thanks for your email.

The 50% off offer is a gesture of good will towards the residents of Carlisle which was also extended to Barnet supporters and only applies to remaining tickets sold from Monday 11th January. As with all promotional offers we are unable to refund fans that have already purchased their tickets prior to the launch of this discount.

Kind Regards

Thank you for your email, we note your comments.

In the first instance, we would suggest that you take this up with your club initially. If then, you feel as though you have exhausted all avenues with the club, then please by all means contact The League again and we will look to assist where possible.

Thank you for contacting The Football League.

Barnet, going well down in my estimations, not answering any emails and when i called today the person on the other end was laughing and unapologetic more/less saying gutted for you.

I'll try emailing the football league to see how far i get with them, i'm sure i could go the DDA route.

Hi

I am getting no where with Barnet regarding this and exhausted all of my avenues and getting no replies, therefore i thought i would email the football league regarding this.

I bought my tickets through Barnet as i got told i had to if i needed a disabled ticket, which i got on the 5th January in order to get a front side as the person is partially blind.

I got the ticket early but have been punished because the 50% offer doesn't apply. I would of thought Barnet would of refunded the 50% back to me card of £11.50.

I'm also sure i could take this through the disability discrimination act as those with disabilities that had to get tickets early are being punished and therefore paying double the amount than everyone else.

Barnet will not refund the tickets but tickets bought previously from Carlisle united for this match are being refunded and bought again at reduced rate.

I expect a peaceful and correct resolution to this query.

On another note, After all this palava with them it turns out the guy who was supposed to book me on 'crispy cake coach' has actually forgotten to book the coach, so I'm happy to give away my u19 and carer ticket to any boarders free of charge. Might as well get some use of them somehow now I've no way of getting there. If anyone's interested let me know

The football league got in touch with Barnet saying they had to refund 50% to those that bought early with a carer ticket.

Right decision in the end.
