Sponsorship deal struck for WRE, deal struck by Phil King. Perhaps doing a fair bit more than people think.

Always good to get another sponsor, even if the name does suggest the airport is behind the ground.

Perhaps the Warwick could be sponsored by the Isle of Wight ferry.

Bugger sponsorship, it'll always be the Warwick

Funnily enough was talking with a mate yesterday, we were wondering if Stobart Air would look to some form of sponsorship with their plans for Carlisle Lake District Airport...

Dont like Newcastle being in anyway associated with Brunton Park. Is it just that one sign to the right hand side?

I find this absolutely amazing and it just shows how the relationship with Stobart has soured. Maybe the next move is for the club to accept sponsorship from Ramages or Turners of Soham.

I applaud Newcastle Airport for this well-timed move to head off the marketing launch for Carlisle Airport. Both Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley airport are being badly affected by the collapse in the oil price which has cut demand for flights to Aberdeen and Stavanger. No doubt Flybe have been suggesting to Newcastle that they may have to withdraw their struggling Stansted service if they lose passengers to Carlisle.

It just shows that Newcastle Airport take the competitive threat from Carlisle Airport seriously.

Stobart did cart the new turf from Scunthorpe for nothing, 22 Wagons worth wasn't it?

Durham Tees is a ghost airport these days, then there's the railway station built nowhere near that has about 50 journeys a year attributed to it!

Easyjet jacked Newcastle to Stansted a few years back, no surprise if FlyBe are debating it too?

1 to the left hand side as well.

No doubt they'll have 1 above the turnstiles too

No plans to change the name of the Warwick Road End, they have sponsored the stand not renamed it.. They have a sign on each of the outside spans of the WRE roof, plus one on the floodlight tower in Paddock south. Really pleased to see nice new sponsor boards and such around the pitch. Makes the place look looked after and busy.

Who said anything about calling it that? Up until recently, H&H; group sponsored the Warwick and had their logo's splashed all over it. Was it ever referred to by fans or the club as the H&H; end?

Is there a difference between stand title sponsor and stand sponsor? Article does say that it's the first title sponsor in the history

I must admit that Newcastle Airport did not feature in my thinking about increased commercial activity-good on them for doing it and well done to PK for landing it.They aren't in competition with Carlisle airport.

The sign behind the Waterworks end saying Carlisle to Glasgow in 1 hour and 10 mins with Virgin is more problematic-not a great sign for retail outlets/potential sponsors in Carlisle!

Needs must of course and Virgin are a great name to have on the shirt-as are Newcastle Airport.Im sure PK is working hard to retain both for the longer term.

Re Claire, can we give her a break please. Her heart is very much in the right place and I can assure you that I know enough of her to know that she is nobody's lackey. There is no chance of Claire being asked to discuss the billionaire or new investment-that would surely have to come from the stakeholders.

"Carlisle to Glasgow in 1 hour and 10 mins" Maybe in your Lambo but not on those Virgin Buses. ;)

I had one of those black 16valve Astras in 1993 when they first came out-was stolen at least 6 times as it was the ideal ram raider car in Newcastle.Eventually gave up on it but at the time,it was a sensational drive with its digital speedometer-would give a cosworth a run for its miney

If I ended up in Glasgow for any reason I'd be glad someone could get me back to Carlisle in just over an hour.
