I wonder if it will be as good as the last one? Is it from a different area?

From Curles interview:
“I have to say it does feel different. There are certain things which can catch you out, potentially, and it wouldn’t surprise me if York didn’t get here a little bit early to do a longer warm up on it. Our players will be less hesitant because they’ve been on there a fair bit.

“There are some unusual bounces and things you don’t expect, but it’s no different to the pitch we played on against Yeovil. That showed us we were able to adapt comfortably within a tight timeframe and that won’t change.

Will be massively different I expect. This pitch has been laid using big blocks of turf, in the middle of winter. The other pitch grew naturally in Summer over a period of a few weeks. I can't see how the pitch won't cut up quite badly as surely there hasn't been enough time, or the right conditions, for the pitch to mesh together.

Hope it still plays ok but I can see a few problems with it over the next few weeks, particularly if the weather isn't favourable.

Once the regular rain starts it's inevitable that it will cut up if it hasn't had time to bed in. Surprised to see it getting watered at HT although I'm not a gardener/groundsman so they will know better than me.

If/when it does cut up this coud lead us to a different style of play also and we choose to go long more often although we've been doing that for the past month anyhow.

It seemed to be playing very slow to me .....the long balls were slowing down quite fast
