TOPIC: Player rating V's York

Gillespie - 6 solid enough, the odd dodgy kick.
Miller - 6 a decent outlet at times.
Atkinson 6 - caught out for pace a few times but was alright.
Raynes 7 - solid oldschool CB display.
Ellis 8 - same as Raynes but just a bit better.
Gillesphey 5 - decent going forward first half but poor defending secon. Brough is better IMO.
Hery 6. - best he has played for a while.
Dicker 7 - cultured display. Having 3 CB's behind him helped.
Kennedy 6 - great goal, went missing a bit at times second half.
Jabo 6 - should of scored at least 2, I wasn't that impressed to be honest.
Deggsy 6 - plenty of running but no end product.

Sub's

Gilliead 5 - didn't seem interested at times and scared to tackle. He had the odd decent run tho.
Hope 6 - put himself about, some good runs.
Sweens 6 - grafted as usual.

If Jabo sticks that header in, does everybody get an extra point?

Dicker 7?!?!?! Amazing!

Kennedy the best of a bad bunch in midfield at 6/10

Hery=6, are you joking. Didn't do a thing all day long and gave the ball away every time he got it. We are looking average again and not a player over 6 today I don't think. Ellis and Kennedy best of the bunch.

Gillespie - 5 not a lot to do, dreadful kicking in 2nd half, putting us under more pressure
Miller - 6 reasonable return
Atkinson 5 dreadful on the left, given the runaround by Oliver, improved when back on the right
Raynes 7 - did well in the air
Ellis 8 - rightly MOTM but not much competition from majority of the rest
Gillesphey 4 - poor and you could see the confidence ebbing away as the game progressed. Some dreadful crosses though one good free kick
Hery 6. - some nice touches and passing but continues to overdo it in wrong areas of the field and get caught in possession
Dicker 6 - some great tackles but faded and off the pace
Kennedy 7 - lovely goal ( but a suspicion of handball ) worked hard to get us going but lacked support
Ibehre 5 - looked as if his heart wasn't in it most of the time and the missed header was appalling
Asamoah 6 - did well to win possession from hopeful balls forward but didn't always make best use once he'd got into good positions



Gilliead - couple of good runs, overdid it a couple of times, but chickened out of a couple of 50-50 balls
Hope - looks an intelligent player and hopefully he can have an injury free run
Sweeney - lovely cut back to lay on the chance for Ibehre

If Grainger is going to be out for some time we are in desperate need of a left sided defender. Gillesphey is not the answer, nor is Atkinson. I'd be tempted to try Sweeney there given his experience.

We didn't deserve to win today but we had the better chances to wrap it up. York thoroughly deserved their point and they didn't look a bottom of the table team to me. They passed the ball and retained possession better than us in the 2nd half and it looked more like when rather than if they equalised.

Think.people are being a bit harsh on Gilhespey - I thought he was reasonable and certainly no worse than Miller on the opposite side.

We just lacked cohesion and there were probably some tured legs and minds out there.

We do seem to have gone off the boil unfortunately.

Thought Gilhespey was poor ,not has good has Brough in that position.Miller had a lot of possession but did little with it.
Dicker is a decent footballer but lacks the energy to play that role in the middle,like Hery but he needs two mobile combatant midfield players around him.Think I would put Sweeney in place of Dicker against Everton, just hope Granger is fit.
We really should have won the game comfortably , that's what you get though if you don't take your chances.

Not long ago Jabo would have had at least a brace from a match like that his focus is probably still in his daughter which is only right. Really hope he can find his sharpness back soon him and Wyke it any chance of promotion will merely be a pipe dream.

Thought Ellis was excellent, Raynes does a good job organising but his reading of the game is not as good as Ellis.
Hery has some nice flicks and touches but his final ball is not good enough, both Jabo and Hope were giving him crap for poor final balls yesterday. Jabo should have put away his header, he was almost on the line. I don't see much in Hope, quick but no end product. Miller should have done better against their number 3, he is never a professional footballer
