After doing the rounds of Preston Blackburn Blackpool and away at Barnet...
Only Preston impressed me ?
Cannot see why anything other than a bit of re-development is needed
Our ground with a bit of imagination is more than up to the job ?

There's no danger of either happening any time soon pal. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm sure I heard years ago that the problem was with the east stand. Maybe why them windows/boxes at the back haven't got the go ahead to be developed ever.

At the end of the day, if we moved to blue yonder and it's 12k all seater imagine the hell that we'd have at an FA cup round 4 draw v Everton with no tickets left

Plus, this new stadium would be financed by the sale of brunton park, to developers for housing more than likely.

Who in their right mind would buy a new build on brunton park after all these floods?

Was thinking about it at the game yesterday it would be good to see us do replace the waterworks. New stand and facilities built into it possibly incorporate couple of Astro turf pitches on ground floor so if flooding occurs we only lose the pitches rather than all the facilities.
Use it as home stand increasing the away end in the east stand.
Would mean either that end or the Warwick would end up with a sizeable gap between pitch and stand but think it would open up a lot of opportunities.
Unfortunately we don't have a pot to piss in so will never happen.

Answer to your first question: no idea, surely you know if it impressed you or not?

Answer to your second question: yes, better than some and is a decent size, location OK. Other hand, no, it'd be nice to have a new stadium, this one holds water and close to flood zone.

Either way, there's no money.

you are spot on... Apart from the fact it suffers devastating flooding every few years, is falling to bits, has absolutely no atmosphere... We would also need some imaginary money to pay for any redevelopment...

Wrong... The new stadium was to be financed by an enabling project, not the sale of the ground.

East Stand job is related to the grants procured to build it.
We can't get any new grants until the stand is completed. The stand has been left incomplete for so long, those bits have decayed and need rebuilt...no money, big circle.

I've always thought that brunt on park was the best location for a proposed new ground access is good ,
If we could build a new ground very similar to Preston but on a smaller scale say15000 capacity with anti flood protection built in would be a terrific result ,the only drawback would be the cost .
Billionaire anybody. UTB

From what i remember the east stand is there because to move it closer to the Warwick we would need to buy the 2 houses on Warwick road and FGB didn't want to spend the money to do it just stick the stand where it is now and tell us all that the water works end would be moved back a bit (which as far as im aware can not happen) . That would allow the Warwick to move closer to the east stand but them the main stand and paddock would have to be rebuilt all costing money we haven't got.
As for the east stand yes FGB got a grant to help build it but as its never been finished we cant ask for more help so until the mystery billionaire comes along BP aint gonna change any time soon . But building on BP with a ground like Deep Dale would be a great idea especially if all offices etc were raised up above the the flood levels of recent times

Was it not to create more space for the end stand that was to replace the WRE?

Where would we play during the time we knock down BP and build a new stadium?

:( To be honest compared with a lot of grounds in Div 1 and 2 Brunton Parks a shithole and hardly changed since my first visit in the 60's.....

A 12.000 capacity ground would be a joke as already proven by ticket sales for Everton game. 15.000 min would be about right although or owners are a joke and not a very funny one at that.

Brunton parks a shithole!!! Take it you don't go to any away games then. Accrington, Newport, Wimbledon, Dagenham, Hartlepool, York. All grounds that imo are far worse than BP.

The last time we got over 12,000 for a game it was against Tottenham, and we got 12,625 that day. It would be a joke for that 1 game every 4 years.

If we had a capacity of 12,000 it would be a joke for the other 99 games we've played at home in those 4 years because we'd be at less than half capacity.

Aye, their ground is too big for them at the moment. Their fan base is growing, though.

And no, it's not just a case of showing ambition. A 12,000 capacity would be more than doubling our current average attendance. Christ, the first game back since the floods when we haven't had a game in nearly two months was just over 7,000.

Which would possibly have been a good deal less had it not been for Everton tickets?

I really cant get my head around the capacity issue of some people christ we have one end that's never bloody used...12,000 would be more than enough for foreseeable future how many crowds we had over that in last 25 years

If we grew our fan base and started filling it then expand

A bigger issue for me is facilities build something with large spacious bar areas that fans want to use and spend time and money in with decent catering

Much rather that than an extra 5.000 shiny empty seats

Brunton park a shit hole ????
Next time you go ....take a look around and compare it with some of the grounds away ...
Yes we have flood issues but where there's a will there's a way .
Get the electrics higher and a bit of imagination with lower level stuff ..just a pitch to worry about .?
Or is that to simplictic
I know this ..... our ground has more going for it than some visited recently .

Small minds equal small future. Swansea were getting 3k at the vetchfield. If they used the same logic as what you quote they wouldn't be where they are today as they built for the future. You can't build a stadium around attendances in the lower leagues, you build it based on potential fan base coming to watch PL and CC football otherwise let's all pack up and go home.

Like Darlington and soon to be Bolton and Wigan ? as for packing up and going home we had one year in top flight in 100 years and havnt packed up...

btw a small capacity hasn't held Bournemouth back and in the modern game gate money is irrelevant compared to tv money

And compared to Blackburn and Blackpool, Brunton Park is a picturesque example of an old school ground with an immaculate playing surface, (usually), that`s the envy of many that needs protected IMO
