We are currently in complete limbo.
The best thing to do would be to rebuild the whole club house and move it to where the grandstand is, this would be 'elevated' with the changing rooms below and the bars and function suites above, therefore reducing the risk of flooding. At the moment we are trying to get the money together (through various options) to do just that. Obviously the insurance people will not give us the amount of money for a complete re-build, so we are looking at various options, Grants, The R.F.U. Sport England etc, etc., needless to say this will cost an enormous amount of money whichever route they take.
We have also been looking at moving away from Warwick Road, but without going into too much detail here, that option is not really suitable.
Lastly we will be looking at refurbishing the club as it is now, which is probably the more likely scenario, however we are already 6/7 weeks behind as literally nothing has been done apart from taking the furniture and carpets out, if anybody wants to know why, then I suggest you get in touch with any of our Committee members, and if they know anything then they have told you a lot more than me.
And on a final note I will be leaving the Rugby Club in the very near future, it is a long story, but they couldn't guarantee my job, so really I had no option.
Thankfully I have found a similar job up at Creighton Rugby Club, and I will be starting there shortly.
Can I just thank all the people who come in the Club before games, I've met a lot of great people, really genuine Carlisle United fans who I will miss.
But I'm sure I will see most of you at Mecca (Brunton Park) in the next few weeks, cheers, Bry. COYB
