The river Eden has gone down in Appleby overnight without doing major damage. They expect another peak this morning but not one that will flood the road. Fingers crossed for everyone and hope that Carlisle is as lucky.

Forecast is for rain right through until a week on Fri beyond a joke now, even ground well away from flooding is so sodden is like a sponge.

SEVERE Flood Warning means risk to life. Confusingly, the two Flood Warnings - meaning flooding is expected - have red triangles and are, therefore, Red Flood Warnings. I think they might have done better to use another colour - black, perhaps - to signify the Severe Flood Warning.

The Flood Warning is still in place for the area around Brunton Park.

Ha, nah they cocked up the times other day forgetting she was in Oz whereas the person updating it was clearly in Europe.

The road is flooded at Carleton like near Hills garage on the A6, can't get through either way at the moment.

The Flood Warning is still in place for the area around Brunton Park.

A Red Triangle and with Red building is the only RED (severe) flood warning that warns of danger to life and is very rarely used Also, it is the only one that is termed as a RED flood warning.

It is the one to panic about !

There are other red triangle flood warnings, however they are not termed as RED Flood warning....Typical EA, confusing and ambiguous.........
