Will anyone step in to save the place ?

I would but i can't be arsed tbh .

Seriously though maybe this trust/supporters group could run it .

Some already refer to it as the "trust board". I think Deano has done a good job of actually keeping it independant of the trust even though he is heavily involved with them.

I might do it and ban the lot of you, then I can be like griff and talk to myself, then go insane, the end.

The thing is stinky if you where like griff you'd have to condem swearing on your own forum then go on the cambridge utd forum and swear like f**k loves the double standards does griff .

Can't we just go back to using thecumbrians.boards.net/ if this site doesn't carry on? Has to be better than that footymad sh*te (sorry Griff).

I havent got a clue what I'm doing but I'll work it out as I go along... I should have the time to look after it.

I think its important this messageboard continues whilst so many people have little or no trust in the board... And little or no trust in the trust....

By take over, he means fund it.

Is Mouldy and Bumble not taking over.?? They have something to do with running the message board don't they?

Ideally deano, I reckon you need 4 or 5 people to take on the ownership rather than one - you've shown that it's too much for one person to take responsibility for.

I can be flexible with time, but I already have a massive commitment with the company etc.

If a group of us can all pitch in with one person hosting, I'm sure we could make it work

Once I committed to doing the moderating I then felt under pressure (not from Deano, from myself) to be watching the board all the time, even when life in general got in the way. I also realised that things I found unacceptable a lot of boarders were happy with, so it was probably best to step down. It's a tough job to do, good luck to who ever takes it on.

I've always said that Carlisle needs two messageboards for the purposes of accountability and continuity, but also because some folk prefer one over the other for their own reasons. I believe that the two should be complementary, not competitors. I provide the alternative to here; Deano's been providing this one, and many thanks to the likes of Tashy who've done this in the past.

I'd encourage anyone with strength, time and independence to continue this board or another. Just don't give it to the Trust or the Club. Independence is crucial. I've crossed swords with a couple of people on here this evening. Come on, have a go at running a board if your views are as strong as you suggest.

Time to put up or shut up.

As I've said I'll happily host/pay for the site but I couldn't be a forum administrator.

If you make it that not one person is responsible and make it self funding it makes legal action that more difficult.

They shouldn't be a need to go to the old site. We've already got people willing to host it and people willing to be a forum administrator.

If worst comes to the worst I'd create my own site/messageboard but is a pointless exercise as we have a good one here.

Mullen, if you want to host the site, I've got a consortium lined up to takeover the running of it.

Will it take 5-10 days to get back to him Deano:D

Otherwise Voldermort could go to the hosts and ask them to shut the site down/remove posts but they won't as they have no responsibility over content.

If you have multiple content admins/forum admins and make it a "community" site rather than one person, which puts you under attack then the legals will stop as not one person has overall responsibility.

It needn't be that much work. People worry about the legal side but that doesn't mean you have to be on a site 24/7. If you create a culture where the members self-police and report questionable posts, if you have a 4-5 mods who get alerts if can be do-able.
