I'm sorry but a lot of people will disagree with me here. To me we are going backwards at an alarming rate of knots and tbh The last 6-7 games have been totally dire. I think he's trying to turn us into something we're not. We're a league 2 football club. a mediocre one at that. He try's to over complicate things all the time and to me not one player seems to have a clue of what's happening etc due to stupid squad rotation and tactics etc. Get back to basics then things will maybe change. Getting rid of dicker just sums it up for me with him really. Totally unbelievable and really tells you all you want to know about the whole situation.

Yes let's get Abbott/Kavanagh back. At least we knew where we were then and no-one was confused.

Get a grip , some people on here are massively disillusioned, the clubs it just back operational, we had a huge flood, we've been on the move we've just got back to our stadium, of cause we aren't going to function correctly, we have 4 games in hand on most of the league and we sat 5 points out side the playoffs

Still a fan of Curle and have no doubt that the floods have affected us and probably wrecked our season but still on the pitch it is no good atm. We havent won this year, have failed to beat York and Yeovil twice in the last month, both of whom are firmly in the relegation dogfight, have returned to hoofball tactics and have seen the goals dry up. We may well have games in hand but its realistic to say at the moment we dont look like winning them!

Hasn't stopped us selling one of the best player at the club, without properly replacing him. We desperately needed a left winger - sorry but Brough isn't good enough imo, for a side that's chasing promotion. I hope if he does come in, that he proves me wrong. We can't use 'the flood' as an excuse for a lack of activity today. Curle said yesterday he was looking at bringing in 3 players (1 permanent, 2 loan) - fingers crossed we see something over the next couple of days. I'm not talking about signing players for the sake of it, but we do need to add players in one/two positions if we're serious about pushing on for promotion.

Once the pitch beds in we'll be back to winning ways hopefully from saturday onwards.

January has been a disappointing month, no doubt about it. However, mitigating circumstances need to be taken in to account given the floods and what the club has been up against. We essentially played four away games on the bounce while the club continued to recover from the flooding.

We should have beaten York but we created the chances and they threatened very little. Curle can't be blamed for Jabo not scoring from three yards and Hope missing a one-on-one. Poor results happen, especially with the off the field distractions we've had to deal with. We're in an okay position in the league which Curle can take credit for. To compare him to Abbott and Kavanagh is absurd - they were incompetents to the highest degree.

As for the transfers today - yes, it's incredibly disappointing that we went after three players today and ended up with none. However, the full details of what went on will never be released - Curle will have been under orders of what could and couldn't be offered to clubs and players today so to direct criticism towards Curle for these failures is unwarranted. Given the history of the BOD it's likely that Curle had very little wriggle room and getting Dicker off the books will have been a tactic to create extra funds but it was probably all too late in the day to reinvest. Let's wait and see what we do in the loan market - we could well go after someone more established than usual given the extra funds.

Are you still going on about Brad Potts Deano? Let it lie for God's sake.

Maybe the publicity surrounding the funds we would generate because of the Everton game has put the price of some players up too much. Also, perhaps the fact that we are no longer in the FA Cup has put players off us. Hopefully our newly acquired reputation for racism hasn't been a factor...

Curle quote from the News & Star.

: The United manager wants to add to his squad before the 11pm cut-off for permanent deals.

Curle is chasing one permanent signing and further loan deals.

He said Blues’ director of external affairs John Nixon had been in talks with one of the clubs involved before Carlisle’s FA Cup defeat to Everton.
“He [Nixon] didn’t want to disturb me during the game but I’ll be straight on the phone to John now to find out if it’s positive,” Curle said.
“Initially [we are looking for] one permanent, but potential for two loans as well.”

Looks like the final decision is being made by Nixon not Curle.

evidently, the aftermath of the flood and the ongoing repairs at the club and surrounding area's will have a greater effect on player's decisions on whether to come or not. I'm sure Curle has tried, but no luck.

has the floods wrecked a promising season? i hope not!

The rubbish served up on the pitch on Sunday won't have had the players Curle spoke to on Monday foaming at the mouth to come here. Then there's the warm welcome a couple of idiots in the Warwick supposedly gave to Everton's players. That made all the back pages yesterday, again not going to do us any favours with recruitment.
