Good luck Claire. It is totally disgusting that our Managing Director / Director Of External Affairs won't front up to live questions on BBC Radio Cumbria. Shame on John Nixon!

Oh go on, i've got a couple (for now, will probably think of more):

1) I know you have no knowledge of the business side of CUFC. With that being the case, are there any members of the holding company intending to appear on BBCRC to address the business side. If not, are you aware of their reasoning behind that? (well, I can but ask)

2) Given the difficulties with gaining tickets for Everton, are the club aware of the shortfalls? Not all of this was directly related to the flooding, have any plans been put in place to mitigate future issues?

1. Claire, given that you have taken over the important jobs like hanging shower curtains etc. What does Steve Pattison actually do now?

1. Are you aware of the club having a business continuity plan and disaster recovery plans?, if so what were the lessons learn't and if not why not?
2. Are the club ISO compliant?
3. Did the club have any contact with the council re Tesco selling the land at the viaduct?
4. Theres enough interest for an owner to appear on radio, can this be put to them?
5. Are you pushing for a open fans forum, what is the response from the other directors?
6. Do you feel your being used by the club to stop criticism hitting the top?

Do you plan on making the same effort as the Everton game for all the remaining home games or does it not matter because you already know we will come whatever happens??

John Nixon declared himself as the brand new 'Director of External Affairs' at Carlisle United a few months ago, and has taken every opportunity to remind the fans of his new title whenever he can.

That is the case apart from the build up to, and the day of, the Everton game on Sunday.

Every media outlet covering the FA Cup fixture referred to Mr Nixon as 'Managing Director of Carlisle United'.

Why did that happen?

Many moons ago, our Director of External Affairs/Managing Director said live on BBC Radio Cumbria that he would be available to appear on the show and answer fans' questions every 4 to 6 weeks.
It's so long since he said it, that I can't remember when it was. But it was certainly longer than 6 weeks ago and we haven't heard a peep from him since.

Why?

Absolutely nothing. A farce. Not Claire's fault though. We are meant to be a professional operation but we look ridiculous! Generally irrelevant info and presumptions. Obvious that all the questions that want answering are for our owners. Fair play to Claire for going on though.

Cringeworthy and embarrassing, as mentioned we got a lot or erms as Claire didn't know the answer. I'm sorry but it sounded like Claire's working for the club rather than as a fans representative, confused.

I think that Claire did the best that she could, but what was telling was what she couldn't say (not her area of responsibility) and didn't know. The former are areas where we want to know the answers, and the latter, in some cases, have been asked before. This shouldn't reflect back on Claire. I'm sure that she's asking questions but getting told "that's not for you Claire" or "we'll get back to you".

I agree with moorlad, She's been set up as a barrier and an excuse for the BoD to say nowt, and it's working perfectly.

That's what it felt like to me! if Claire didn't know she should of said she didn't know instead of waffling on. A waste of one hour for me that i'll never get back.

If Claire has asked the question, let us know that she isn't getting the answers. It sounds to me shes scared of upsetting anyone, why?

I've got to disagree, she had obviously researched the questions that were going to be asked - even if she couldn't find her notes about contingency planning

Likewise, I think it'd be really unfair to criticise her for errmming a bit. Even with media training, public speaking is not easy for most and is a bit unfair on her.

There are reasons to knock her, these aren't them.

Still, whatever you think of last night's show, we've probably heard more from Claire in the last five months than we have from Norman Steel in the last decade...

Don't blame Claire she is in a hiding to nothing. In the other hand is long over due that the Trust finally stood up to the three amigos and demanded answers.

Your all correct in that its not really Claire's fault - she is being asked questions that isn't her responsibility. If i was in her shoes i would of dragged someone down who could answer them.

If Claire puts herself in the firing line without protection then its inevitable she will get burnt. Just my opinion i felt awkward listening to it and again my opinion sounded like Claire didn't want to upset anyone at the club.

As for the trust and NS, we all know NS is complete waste of time. He should be off that board asap, it won't happen though.

I think the national press need a bit of criticism on all of this too. Any journo worth the name could have easily contacted James Phillips or Jon Colman and asked for the inside track on Carlisle this season, with us being in the spotlight because of floods + Everton. I'm sure 5 mins in the company of either would have revealed to them the alternative story of a club flogging their best young players for less than they're worth, a laughable (stalled) attempt at a new stadium, a director who swears on the radio and makes people pay to read his (non-) apology; and a disgruntled fanbase sick of the lack of leadership and vision and support given to a manager capable of getting the club up a division with the right backing.

Instead they all seemingly parroted the "brilliant community effort" stuff - which, while true, is also a convenient smokescreen for the mess the club was in before storm Desmond hit.

Would be interested to know if Colman or Phillips had any such contact with any journalists and pointed them in the right direction, but they would rather run with the simpler story of "well done little Carlisle"...

Surely by now Claire you must have figured out you are being used as a smokescreen and a puppet on a string .If i were you lass i would say sod the lot of them. You are not gonna get anything out of the horsemen... Just walk away then have your true opinion and say what you like . It feels your hands have become tied..

For what it's worth I think Colman is excellent, and I'm sure he'll be off to a bigger and better job before too long, if he wants to.
