I've come to the conclusion that my body clock does not conform to this 24 hour solar cycle. On a week day I get up at 7.15am but even though Im knackered in the morning I don't go to sleep untill at least 18 hours later. I generally fall asleep at 1.15am even though Ive gone to bed at at 11.45am when my mind is racing. I do need 9 hours sleep but I'm always short. The only conclusion I can come up with is that I need another planet which moves a bit slower around the sun! This is not even mentioning weekends when a party leaves me in a blackhole! Am I alone?

Nope. I've worked nights for 10 years but tend to wake up at 10-10.30am. Drives me bonkers

I know people that do, however I couldn't. I'm not a nice person to be around if I try and do that

Nights killed me after two year's.
I get up at half 4 Mon till Thurs,if am not working weekend I am generally awake early on day's off but get tired about 1 in a noon.

I've been on nights for 5 years. I don't sleep before my 1st night on and power through, go tobed at around 8-8.30 and wake up at about 12-1 have some lunch then go back to bed until about 6-7. I stay awake after my last shift.

This gets messed up a bit on my Saturday on because the wife works 12-5 so I look after our daughter, even worse because it falls between shifts.

I usually don't get to bed before 5 or 6 on a weekend and cannot sleep whatsoever when I know I have to catch the bus for Away games then add in a couple of pints and usually walk round like a zombie. I've tried sleeping on the bus but MRF's farts keep me awake plus he's like a kid in a sweet shop going to a match.

I know none of you can tell the difference anyhow. :-)

Used to do shifts in the hospital for 12yrs with the usual early/late/nights rota....
I never had a problem sleeping before or after nights, but then I had no responsibilities to attend to, just the job itself.
Only thing was my "body clock" got screwed up after nights, I tried the stay awake trick but I just felt like death warmed up....so I took to going to bed until 12 then get up for a few hours before having as many beers as I could cope with to make me pass out drunk by about 8-9pm, after a full blown beer coma for 8-10hrs it seemed to put my clock back into the normal time zone but in hindsight it probably wasn't the brightest method
