Fantastic player when on pitch ,just scored for Liverpool.
But is he really worth the wait between injuries?
Then would you take him to the euro s for England?
Rooney,Vardy,Kane and ?

If fit, Welbeck is a cast, excellent record under Hodgson...

Sturridge? probably not, really needs to prove his fitness or he becomes too much of a risk.

Rooney? On current form...... Hmmmm....... Not too sure! He looked and sounded utterly deflated yesterday after their defeat at the mackems.

Kane? Yes!

Vardy? Yes!

Wellbeck? Possibly, also needs to prove his fitness and get games.

Looking a bit short on quality strikers internationally, A few young and unproven but not many .

Kane and Vardy up from with Barkley behind for me. Dier as the holding midfielder with two others in front (NOT Henderson, Carrick or Wilshere)

Welbeck, Rooney, Ali, Sterling and Sturridge would be a strong bench.

The defence however is a problem

Rooney form? 5 in 8 or something like that. Reckon he'll thrive from being given freedom to play that he hasn't had at Manchester United all season.

If Rooney's form is reasonable until the end of the season, he'll go. Think Roy would leave him out of the squad if he thought he was playing poorly, but his form has picked up the last few weeks,
Kane and Vardy are in the in form players, however not sure I would particularly be filled with confidence if they were lining up as England's front two.
Wellbeck highly likely to be picked over Sturridge unless Sturridge goes on a scoring spree and keeps fit, the first part is more likely than the second part.
Certainly a few more options and promising attacking players for England, than we've had for a while, when you think we've got Walcott, Barkley, Alli and Sterling.
Shame we've got no decent defenders.

Rooney out for 6 weeks.
He might be struggling to make it in the summer now.
He'll be out until April, unless he is looking particularly sharp when he comes back, it could be an opportunity for Roy to move on.
He could have played his last England game. He has been one of England's better players in my time, but he's no world beater these days , so I wouldn't think it was that crazy if he was left out.

Would be cruel to leave a fit rooney out of the squad he may not be best but he is still a better player than most of the england squad,

Sturridge and Vardy up front! Tom Daley and Greg Louganis! Should get a few penalties.

Sturridge, Vardy and Kane are clearly our best attacking options. Welbeck has played 80 league games since the last Euros in 2012, with the grand total of 15 league goals. And that's playing for top clubs who give youth a chance. Very poor.
However I fully expect Hodgson to take Rooney, Vardy, Kane, Welbeck and Walcott, and start Kane with Rooney and Barkley behind.

We're struggling for strength in depth in other areas - Basically centre back appears to be 3 from Jagielka, Cahill, Stones, and Smalling. The latter has had probably his best season, but the other 3 have been poor. Thankfully Jones seems to be out of the picture now.

Keepers will be Hart, Butland as second choice, and then either Forster or Foster. It's astonishing that Foster is still playing in the top division frankly, but there you go, Woy likes him.

Fullbacks coming out of ears though! Baines, Gibbs, Rose, Shaw, Walker, Clyne, Flanagan, Bertrand..........

Welbeck has been played as a winger though, and unlike strurridge actually scores goals when he plays for England, Sturridge will get "injured" and wont go anyway

It depends on which formation we are playing. In the group stages we might be able to get away with 442 in which Id play Vardy & Kane up front dropping Alli for midfield, but against any decent team it would be 4-5-1 I think.

Forster (Southampton)

Walker (Spurs) Stones (Everton) Cahill (Chelsea) Shaw (Man Utd) or Baines (Everton) - depending on fitness

Wilshere (Arsenal)

Alli (Spurs) Barkley (Everton)

Walcott (Arsenal) Sterling (Chelsea)

Kane (Spurs)

I can't believe this thread has gone as long as it has without anyone mentioning his shit celebration, he should be dropped for that alone.

IMO he's the best we've got apart from Rooney it's just a shame he plays for the Scouse scum.

Is sterling replacing hazard?
