TOPIC: Ratings v Accy

Overall a decent game almost spoiled by a complete dick of a ref, thought we might have nicked it at the death with Gillehad, but wasn't to be. If Curle can get them to perform to this level (with 11 men) then I'm sure we wont be to far away from the play-offs come the end of the season.

Gillespie 8 Had very little to do first half, dealt with crosses well in the second
McQueen 7 Looks a bit lightweight, has plenty of pace stuck to the task well.
Atkinson 8 Solid performance considering he was out of position
Raynes 7.5 Did a lot of pointing, but solid enough
Ellis 8.5 Man of the match for me won everything in the air
Hery 7.5 Good first half faded a bit second
Joyce 7.5 Solid
Kennedy 8 Worked his socks off
Hope 8 would have been man of the match for me if he hadn't run out of steam
Wyke 7.5 Isolated due to the circumstances but thought he put himself about well
Iberie - Not on long enough, after that disgraceful decision by the ref

Subs 7
Curle 8.5 Well most people know that I'm not his greatest fan but nevertheless credit where credits due, though he got the tactics spot on after that incident. And I liked the look of that team.

I thought hope was fantastic, even though he was played out of position. He's never a winger for me. Raynes pointed a lot, but he always points and he's stepped up to the armband considerably. Shame we still haven't won under Raynes' captaincy mind (took off too early injured in the home Accrington game to count as a win under him imo)

Gillespie - 7 - Solid enough, not sure if he could have done better for their goal.

McQueen - 7 - Sending-off meant he had to sit a bit deeper, when he did get forward he did well.
Ellis - 8 - Dominant in the air, good distribution too
Raynes - 7 - Solid enough though missed a couple of headers
Atkinson - 7 - Still has a tendancy to cut onto his right-foot, but played some good passes (though caught on the ball a couple of times).

Hery - 7 - Good workrate and a few moments of quality on the ball.
Kennedy - 7 - Quiet first-half, much better after the break.
Joyce - 7 - Some good tackles but some very loose passing as well. Have we not got anyone better than him to take corners?
Hope - 7 - Would have got an 8 but that sloppy clearance for their goal cost him. Great finish for the goal - would like to see him down the middle with Wyke if Jabo's ban stands.

Wyke - 7.5 - Worked his backside off, doing the job of two men for most of the match. Loses half a mark for that shocking dive.
Jabo - New haircut did him no good! Terrible decision to send him off but I reckon the FA will standby the ref.

Subs

Gilliead - 6 - A couple of decent moments, but looks to be lacking a bit of confidence at the moment.
Asamoah - 6 - Looked lively, one brilliant bit of skill setup a good chance.
Rigg - N/A - Barely had time to touch the ball

Curle - 7 - Seemed to get us organised well after the red card and can't argue that we looked the better side for much of the first-half. However, it was clear early on in the second-half a few players were starting to tire badly and he should have reacted quicker to that with the subs. Overall a decent enough point in the circumstances.

Before I do my ratings, who was it that f***ed up the clearance right before their equaliser?

Agree with most but I thought Joyce was poor tonight but never gave up.
For those of us who stood through last years efforts this was a massive leap forward.

Ref wanted to be centre of attention throughout and ruined the game for both teams at every opportunity.

Gillespie 7 - didn't have a great deal to do, one good save second half

McQueen 6 - he's brilliant going forward but really struggles defensively
Ellis 8 - commanding again, great in the air
Raynes 7 - steady
Atkinson 8 - good distribution and good sweeping in parts

Hery 7 - gave us a lot of creativity in the middle, one panic moment in our own box but quite happy to take that for his magic in midfield
Joyce 7 - never stopped trying
Kennedy 7 - again worked tirelessly, some great tackles
Hope 8* - one of his best performances, beating men with ease and physically strong

Wyke 7 - another decent game, tough ask for him after the sending off

Gilliead 5 - frustrating. clearly lacking in confidence
Asamoah 6 - our only attacking threat in the last part of the game, nearly created something

Curle 8 - I did doubt his selection of McQueen but we managed and he seemed to adjust the team well to the red card, well organised and encouraging good football.

To add, looking back it could be a great point but it's all dependant on Saturday's result. The best first half performance of the season and a pretty solid defensive performance. Ruined really by a "look at me" referee, some of the decisions were comical. All in all, happy with the game.

Gillead is a talented player, but he bottles out of so much. Would have preferred to see Sweeney come on. It was the kind of game where you needed grafters last night.

I was surprised Sweeney didn't start tbh, and surprised Hery did. Saying that, Hery played well last night
