I can't believe people don't seem to care about this! I'm back from the 'dead' to urge people to not put up with these lies anymore. I've voted with my feet as it's the only thing to do. Although protesting through sit ins seem a good idea also. THE TRUST SURLEY SHOULD BE LEADING THIS! The whole affair has been an utter disgrace.

Said it all along, the only way to go about it is by voting with your feet. Boycott the spot! Boycott any of their business'. Hit the [censored] in the pockets. 4,000+ crowds mean business as usual to Jenkins & Nixon. Trouble these days is, folk (myself included) would rather twine on social media about it, than actually do any form of protest. Be faster going into administration to get rid of AJ at this rate..?

As long as there are signs of progress on the pitch, people will go to Brunton Park.

Not only are things looking up on the pitch but the marketing side seems to be moving in the right direction. Yes AJ has made many mistakes but I really hope he enjoys some success. We'd have gone the same way as Darlo had he not found 2 million to keep the club going during troubled times. Respect is due

Get yer head out the sand... ffs..ive repeated myself again from your comments the other day. Face it Archer he has failed..incompetent leadership.. How do you know we would go bust if he had not put in coin? I doubt that. There are others whom want to run the club..PROPERLY ..he has had his chance and brought nothing but debts to the spot and poor decisions and embarrasing gaffes in his time...made the club look amatuerish and tin pot.. Hes a [censored] joke !

Nope, recent events have proved that there are people willing to take over.

If administration is the cost of new owners then i say bring it on.

So we should be thanking AJ for spending the £2m he and the current board squandered? Abbott's gentleman's handshake anyone?

Let's get this straight, AJ swears at the local radio station live on air and barely half apologises.

AJ is, at best, partially responsible for the billionaire fiasco.

AJ presides over a period where the attendance is cut in half.

AJ took over when the club had just finished in the play offs to get into the championship and, last year, we're fighting relegation to the conference.

And you think that's worthy of respect?

Like I said AJ has made mistakes that have riled us, to varying degrees, such as:

Extending Abbott's contract
Giving Kavanagh a 2 year deal, not 1
Unambitious marketing
Postcode policy
Absurd owners' comms strategy
Stevenage sweargate
Blue yawnder
Billionaire silence

However I don't recall many on here complaining about the Kavanagh appointment at the time
He backed Abbott with a generous playing budget
He paid for Kavanagh to bring in umpteen loan signings and legends like Gary Dicker (to some on here!)
He took swift action last season to remove Kavanagh
Curle might prove to be an inspired managerial choice
He bankrolled Curle to keep us in the league
He has backed the team with overnight stays to avoid long hauls
Phil King's marketing progress
Swift flood recovery

All directors at clubs will make mistakes - all of us would have made mistakes - but would we have put in 2 million quid to help put them right?! That's why I respect him

Football is all about ups and downs, it's part of the fun. Maybe we are heading back towards the top end of league one?

Why not relax, enjoy the ride (bumpy) and put away the voodoo dolls!

Hate what the directors have done to Carlisle since Fred handed over. Certainly didn't enjoy last season when it looked like the conference. No respect for the bod from me.

They are a cancer to the club and the events of the last 12 months off the field have got worse..Nixon and Jenkins are a disgrace to our football club and have treat the fans with utter contempt. Only a handfull of brown nosers want them to do well. They have held the club totally back for too long . No doubt we will read some utter bullshit in the program on saturday

Errr, Kav was the cheap option and I *do* remember plenty of people complaining about it at the time. I certainly did.

He backed Abbott with a generous playing budget

So, you feel he deserves credit for squandering money which has put us and him in the situation where he's had to put money in to cover this bad judgement?

He paid for Kavanagh to bring in umpteen loan signings and legends like Gary Dicker (to some on here!)

Again, you want to give him credit for what was obviously a poor decision?

He took swift action last season to remove Kavanagh

Really? Really? GKs job was to keep us up, he failed. AJ and JN rewarded that failure with all of pre-season, a load of players and the start of last season. The board took anything but swift action.

Curle might prove to be an inspired managerial choice

A stopped clock is always right twice. I would say less inspired and more luck. One good manager in three is not inspired.

He bankrolled Curle to keep us in the league

That's what AJ's role is, he bank rolled another two manager which has left us stuck with him.

He has backed the team with overnight stays to avoid long hauls
Phil King's marketing progress

Words fail me. Phil King's appointment has nothing to do with AJ or the rest of the board. That was down to one man and one man alone. Unless you feel AJ deserves credit for dragging Lapping's name through the mud and then stealing his ideas and passing them off as their own?

Swift flood recovery

Because of or despite?

All directors at clubs will make mistakes - all of us would have made mistakes - but would we have put in 2 million quid to help put them right?! That's why I respect him Football is all about ups and downs, it's part of the fun. Maybe we are heading back towards the top end of league one?

Nope, sorry, can't do that.

Both my wife and I are season ticket holders. Have been for the last 6 years, that's despite living 135 miles away. It's a 270 mile round trip and 4 hours for us to go to BP.
We've happily paid for STs despite knowing that neither of our jobs would allow us to go to all the games.

Knowing that every year there's a promotion that makes that "three game saving" not even that. I don't really class £5 off a shirt at the end of the season when already owning the shirt any sort of recompense.

On top of that, we've also had a car park ST despite knowing it's a pain in the arse. If we parked at the Lakeland Gate or Riverside then it'd save at least a good 15 mins off our journey home. We happily paid for the club parking as we know the money went to the club.

We've done all we can in our little way to help support the club.

This season though, this season, the actions of AJ and JN are the straw that's broke the camels back. I've had enough.

I've listened to the board of my club. I've listened to what they've had to say. They've told me, if I don't like it then piss off and don't come back.

OK, I will.

I'll pick my games next season. I won't bother with the parking and just park at the Lakeland Gate for nowt.

I'll listen on the radio on a Tuesday.

I've had my fill of the pair of them.

So when they said that AL doesn't have a pot to piss in, are you suggesting that was the truth? So far as I can see from this and other pieces of information, his pot has been solid gold and jewel-encrusted for some time.

Just to clear up what I have posted.
I am not suggesting at all that AL doesn't have a pot to piss. What I'm saying that it shows that they were wrong to say this, but that in itself does not prove that they deliberately lied.

It's quite clear what you're saying, Unrepentant. I don't know whether Griff is intentionally twisting your post or not, but there's a big difference here between being proved to be wrong and being proved to be lying.

Right, and so they have chosen to have a dig at Laffy's reputation while all of that was going on. Forgetting the "pot to piss in" bit, as that wasn't an official CUFC communication but was the view of a single person, there was still the stuff about dubious business practices. Now, we all know that the board of directors were carrying out some form of due diligence on Laffy. What they have done, really, is told us that the process confirmed that his business dealings were dodgy because they've come across something in there. This is quite clearly NOT them being proved wrong, it means they have lied, because they can't have uncovered anything like that because it doesn't exist.

Also quite clearly it was the bid by Laffy that made them lie about the billionaire too, I have no proof that was a lie, but my original post on here is proof that they lied about Laffy as a businessman.

I have to say I tend to agree with Mouldy on some stuff anyway, and as I've said before I don't know really whether that bid would have been as perfect as some people think. However it would have been a huge improvement over what we currently have.

Laffy could have chosen to defend his reputation, he didn't. Leave it there or he may end up having to if this go's on.

Regarding change, whichever way you look at it AJ is not a bad guy and deserves credit for his deep pockets, however we need change for the future. new ideas, new investment, new direction and ambition and new blood.

In the case of one board member who is a passenger and all round baggage that causes damage, that board member should resign immediately.

In the case of the other two, one had operational skills that may no longer be needed and a the other has under achieved at the club despite the many years of service.

The legacy for these guys should be positive not negative, by hanging on, it looks like drowning man syndrome.

Let's not make it personal, we just want (and need) change !!

I still don't believe that this proves that they lied about that. They might have come across something, or they might have believed that they came across something. I don't believe for a second that they did, and I think they did lie, but that level of 'proof' wouldn't stand up in court.

Who makes it personal though? "If you don't like it piss of and don't come back", "Get behind the club you cunt" etc.

Unfortunately for them their legacy is tainted beyond repair by the billionaire shambles among other things, and it needn't have happened. I have seen them at their best, close up, some years ago, and have commented about it on here. I have defended them in the past, against what I thought was unfair, and none of my criticism has ever been personal. I actually think they're all reasonable people (when I've met and spoken to them), and certainly in the past (I haven't spoken to any of them for a few years) they've always wanted the club to do as well as possible.

They are now in danger of dragging the club down though by the way they are going about things. I feel sorry for them, particularly for Mr Jenkins, because they have backed themselves into a corner they have very little chance of getting out of with any sort of dignity.

I think this week's programme notes will end up being further proof of this. No doubt there are still people who hang on their every word, but there will be people on here who will not like what they see, especially as there is no way to question the views expressed.

Well, it would be a civil matter and not a criminal one, so the evidence wouldn't have to be beyond reasonable doubt, just a balance of probabilities. There would also be more evidence, including the fella's history in business which pretty much stands up to scrutiny. They lied mate, there is no doubt about it, they lied to stop the takeover going through. They lied because they knew Laffy wouldn't take action because he didn't want to damage the club, and because the publicity might have had some effect on his reputation if there was a drawn out case (mud sticks). They lied to protect their position, and they are continuing to lie now.

Thing is, when they personally attack someone who proposes new investment AND is willing to work with them, it's a bit rich for you to ask people not to make it personal.
