Dempsey is not the finished product but probably has a good if not great future awaiting.

But is he what CUFC needs at the moment? A single gem amongst what last year was a lack lustre team with limited confidence and no consistency. If all the money received from the two transfers is available to KC (and perhaps that is THE biggest assumption with the current mob) surely its better to get 4 or 5 good players at THIS level in the expectation of success that in turn could breed success and eventually ATTRACT players of KD potential.

Also, lets take a scenario where KD gets injured, maybe long term as Garner and others. In our current state is it worth having all our eggs in one basket so that we fickle fans can enjoy at least several moments in the match delighting at KD skill and effort. Or is it better to spread the assets (as measured in £) among several decent if not great players.

With 11 goals and numerous assists he will be a huge miss.
Plus as Jon Colemans article in N&S; today pointed out have a very poor record of replacing our talented players, which usually results in poor seasons and even relegation.
The only up side might be anger from fans that will help them focus on removing JN and AJ from the club.

Cayambe, if we're gonna start worrying about players getting injured then we might as well all pack in now. He was our best player by a mile last season. I'll be amazed if some clown from Rochdale with red hair will make us as good (if not better) to be honest. The money won't go to KC to spend (squad is about complete now I'd say). Not many teams pay transfer fees for players at our level anyway, just dross on low wages.

He is far from the finished product and another season developing with us could well see him attracting attention beyond the likes of Huddersfield or Barnsley. Unfortunately I think the evil twosome will have already accepted the deal hence his absence from the side tonight.

Apparently the local talk out West is he doesn`t want to leave....so maybe he realises he needs another year or so getting regular games..he can only improve then we get the big bucks.

If this turns out to be true, it will be the last straw for me with the club. I was willing to put the behind the scenes stuff to one side and focus on supporting the team, but if those two have forced Kyle out for the money then it is disgusting and shows how little they care about the future of the club on the pitch. Dempsey is one of the players the supporters will pay to watch develop this year but they could not care what the supporters pay to watch as long as some happy clappers carry on turning up and emptying their pockets. I just hope wherever Dempsey ends up he continues to develop and play regularly.
