A while ago Nixon said something about wanting 'x amount of homegrown players in the squad in x amount of years.'

Potts and Dempsey sold within weeks of eachother.

Well, there's more chance of having home grown players in the squad if we're in the northern league to be fair, so he's still working on that one. Unfortunately for Nixon, Curle managed to keep us up last season.

I am totally disillusioned with it all at the moment. I felt a bit of love coming back when Andrew Lapping was involved in his talk but that has vanished.

He didn't want anything to do with Lapping deal and wasn't forthcoming.

It only went as far as it did because I put it on here, Lumsden said what he did on radio and Lapping himself communicated on here. He was furious that I was going to ask him questions on it on radio (Workgate). He plainly lied the week before he went on radio coming out with no investment was on the table and he wasn't speaking to anyone, well that proved to be a big lie.

Make up a billionaire to get the supporters on side, it just hasn't worked.

I don't understand why hes holding on for. It can't just be for his fa perks or blue yonder which is non existant. Theres something else which I think is why the lawyers weren't forthcoming to Lapping.

There's a difference between "not wanting to go" and "not actively seeking a move". Dempsey was always destined for bigger things just like Murray, Delap, Boertien, Jansen, Reid, Garner, Westwood, Graham etc.

Maybe the way it's been dealt with and the fee could have been better but we don't know if there are add ons or sell on clauses.

I think that the "odious two", as perceived, are on a hiding to nothing here.
I don't see why employees at a football club are any different from any other. If you are a rising star in a company, getting noticed and a rival offers you more to work for them, you resign and move on. In many jobs if you see something better and apply for it, why would it be the board's fault if you were successful in your application and resigned?
I think some of Curle's comments are worthy. We have two rising stars who have been seen in that light by others. Suddenly (?) we do not seem to have difficulty in recruiting this Summer, including people from far and wide. If players see the club as a route to career progression, they will not see the area as a barrier.
The overall figure might not be to our liking, but we are speculating, but perhaps the longer term benefits of how players perceive the club might just be worth considering.

For me, this whole situation is a bizarre business model. If you want people to believe you have someone about to put lots of money in to your company, selling your best asset(s) cheaply (*allegedly) smacks of panic stations. I was listening to bbcrc and his statement in the car before and my 5 year olds words were 'turn it off dad that man sounds creepy, boring and evil' I couldn't really argue, so turned it off.

I'm sure Nixon said in numerous interviews that nobody had come forward regarding investment/takeover but then says Frank Lynch spoke to them last summer and also been talking to Lapping since April last year which was also denied in said interviews, the bloke couldn't lie straight in bed the fucking [censored].

First time poster. The retention of Graham Kavanagh as manager following relegation last year proves conclusively that Jenkins and Nixon are truly a pair of incompetents. Could they not see what the fans could see, i.e. Kav was an awful manager. Are they afraid to take hard decisions until they are forced on them. Fed up and being slowly drained of my enthusiasm for my club by these (lying?) plonkers that treat us, the fans, with contempt.
