"PLAN FOR LOCAL INVESTMENT IN CUFC

As we said in our statement issued at the end of last month, the CUOSC Board wrote to Andrew Jenkins on 23 March asking for a further meeting to discuss the latest proposals for local investment in the Club. We asked for a response to that letter in a fortnight but we haven't received one.

As a result we have again written to Andrew today to repeat our request for a meeting as soon as possible. We have indicated that we see the current investment proposal as the ideal opportunity for the Club to move forward from the present position of having 'custodians' at the helm to a more permanent and broadly-based community ownership situation involving significant new investment.

We have made it clear that the discussion we hope that Andrew will have with us will reflect his massive contribution to the Club over the last 56 years and cover the various possibilities regarding debt clearance/restructuring.

We would like to think that that as the Club's second largest shareholder and the official organisation representing its supporters Andrew will now let us have a response in the very near future."

Mr Jenkins is not interested in what the Trust (or any other fans group for that matter) has to say.

Surely they can see that by now!

I expect Jenkins will reply within 5 to 10 days.

I love the optimism CCU ... unfortunately AJ thinks that we are all C**ts and I'd be willing to bet he will continue treating us that way by ignoring this type of approach.

Once again this shows how toothless our trust are. 25.4%? of the shares, fobbed off for years, no seat on the board and they still wont rock the boat. Waste of time. May as well put them in their next letter to Jenkins and give him them back.

All the cynical humour whilst amusing is irrelevant. What is important is that as long as genuine efforts to communicate and enter into dialogue are ignored, the longer their siege mentality is employed, the eventual and inevitable climbdown will be utterly humiliating. Not good in a small place like Carlisle!

Anyway I've made it known that i don't think this offer is the best for the club, however anything is better than the current 3. The trust need to stop nandy pandying around to AJ's tune as its obvious from the silence these letters are being ignored. AJ clearly said NO i don't know how many times he needs to say NO for the trust to understand that he won't sell/relinquish control to them. The silence speaks volumes.

Its time for the trust to start making some noise. Go through the courts if need be to get the place on the holdings board, they do own 25% so this should be a foregone conclusion.

The actions of the CUOSC in writing a second time and publicising it, makes it clear that no one has ' learned the hard way ' from the silly and petty PR campaign run against Fred Story.

They may think ' we got rid of Fred, so we'll get rid of Jenkins ' but, as much as I want change, I would never support such a negative association as the Trust (CUOSC). The sooner they listen the the fans and make significant changes the sooner we all move forward.

At the investor meeting some weeks ago now it was clear that some members of the audience hold deep rooted grudges against FS and would be happy for the status quo, i.e the custodians, to remain.

CUOSC should present its proposals publicly indicating precisely how under its plan it intends to repay PFD (Carlisle) Ltd's and AJ's loans. The fact that it probably has no intention to do so will mean that the status quo continues indefinitely. Pioneer continues to trade profitably and AJ can easily afford to top up his loan by £300k if the club experiences another lean year.

Sadly for CUOSC, 25.4% of the shares doesn't automatically qualify it for a seat on the Holdings company board. AJ holds all the cards and there's not a damn thing CUOSC can do about it no matter how hard it huffs and puffs.

Bruntonpasty, even in a bumper year financially like this one the 'cash surplus' may not be massive after paying off the bank overdraft, paying the corporation tax on the Story loan write-off and maybe paying some creditors earlier than normal. If AJ and JN aren't in a position to control the finances, the club could be run so that there never is a cash surplus and AJ and Pioneer wouldn't see another penny.

It's very easy to understand why the CUOSC's letters are being ignored.

Not disputing any of that, just explaining what was said at that meeting. Personally I reckon the stalemate will continue until AJ is no longer physically or mentally able to continue, he's no spring chicken after all. How the monies would be repaid then is very uncertain as I'm sure you would agree.

The stupid thing about AJ's stance is that he will have to keep pumping money in with less and less chance of getting it back, pretty dumb if you ask me. In fact it underlines what a bad business man he is.
CUOSC need to get more aggressive and just the press to keep pressure on him abs his cohorts.

Yes there are people who think AJ and Co are doing a fine job and dont want him removed and want him to be given all his money back and a gold watch for all that hes done but these are people who dont live in the real world so no youre right they probably didnt and still dont understand whats really going on and who shouldn't of been let anywhere near the Trust in the first place.

At this juncture,it's all guesswork but abundantly clear there is no one knocking down the door to co invest with the present regime-and I include the billionaire fantasy in that group.

The Trust still have a huge advantage-their shareholding is a golden share so I think patience is their tactic just now

There has been no response as of today.

Nigel Davidson (CUOSC) was on BBC Radio Cumbria sport mid-day today to confirm that is the current position.

Who from CUFC told BBCRC that Jenkins had replied?

Nothing to cover up Mark, as of yesterday there has been no response received by CUOSC. Whether they've stuck something in the post which will arrive early next week, that remains to be seen.

In terms of AJ being involved going forward, that's what we need to sit down and discuss. Nobody can force AJ/JN to sell their shares, AJ has been involved in the club for decades, and it's clear that he has no intention of stepping aside. This is about finding out exactly what he wants - either he wants local investment and the opportunity for the club to progress, or he doesn't, and in my opinion that will only lead to a continuing decline.

I think all supporters should search for a wealthy person to offer AJ 2.2Million for his shares.He would be foolish not to accept and that I would suggest is the way forward.
