No point not appealing. Nothing lost if I the ban's extended to 4 games. We'll be well adrift by then anyway.

All hypothetic for now but who was the last Carlisle player to end his playing career for the club on the receiving end of a straight red?

Someone get their home programme collection out to check ;)

Troy last season. He hasn't had a playing career with us since that ridiculous sending off in front of the Warwick.

Apart from the 500 notes it cost if you lose.

Just had a thought, as we're appealing it is he available for Luton tomorrow? He's potentially more use tomorrow with Wyke a doubt than the last game of the season when realistically everything will be sorted.

An FA panel considered the appeal this afternoon but have decided to uphold the decision made by match official Mr Ben Toner.

Hope will now serve a three-match suspension and will miss the Luton, Crawley and Oxford games.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Michael Bridges last game for us was away at Cheltenham in 08-09 and he got sent of for handball I think? Evan Horwood also got sent off that day I think. Bridges was then suspended for the Millwall game and loan ended afterwards.

To be fair, Curle did say post-match that he would review the tape and then the article this morning where it confirmed we would be appealing there were quotes from hi that suggests it was his decision.

Of course it wouldn't be the club shop staff, what a daft thing to say. The point I'm making is that you're (once again) having a go at Curle when you don't even know if it was him that made the decision. Your dislike of all things Curle is bordering on obsessive.

Well from where I stood, & I was close by, he played definitely played the ball & all those around agreed. Linesman in a similar position didn't raise his flag. But from the television camera above it looked a sending off. Just shows how different angles deceive.

The article on the OS this morning has gone now the verdict is known. But in it, it was fairly obvious it was Curle's decision to appeal. It's what he's paid to do, make decisions, and this is yet another which he's got wrong.

I praised him the other week for a good result so I'd hardly say it was obsessive!

Did he get it wrong though, or did he, as some one else suggested, say well it's worth a punt. Few folk on here expected the Ibehre red card to be rescinded but it was. So nothign to lose except the appeal mney and no one on here knows who paid that.

Totally agree. Times have changed tho. It's a fanny's game now. Can't get away with tackles like that. Can't understand what goes through Curle's mind me. Club penny pinches everywhere else, then blows £100's on appeals like that. Thick c_nts!

Hi guys, Keith here. Do I think it should have been a red card? No. Did I pay the £500 myself? Yes.

That ^^ was him.

Exactly Bumble, 4 important games of the season left of which Hope will miss 3 so, whoever's decision it was, it was worth a gamble. Many said we were wasting our time with the Ibhere appeal yet it was successful. A one off payment of £500 is nowt to a football league club when the potential outcome is having a player available for 3 important games he would otherwise miss.

Problem with the appeal system is they only retract on those that are nailed on wrong. Every case that goes to appeal are disputed but unless it's a clear error there is no chance. In this case it was too close to call and probably an easy decision to uphold.
