If you read this then well done Claire. You tried but once again theyve shown themselves for what they are, a complete shambles. I do hope that statement is not the end of it and you say what you really think of them. I appreciate you may want to rise above that though.

I had a feeling that after those notorious programme notes it would be (ref's shower) curtains for Claire.

Brave lass and it's sad it's ended like this. No doubt there will be a witch hunt and everyone else responsible for allowing those programme notes to be published will be for the chop in due course.

Be interested to know who on the 1921 board carried out the bollocking and why they believe they have the right to do that to a fellow director and more to the point will they have the balls to come out and admit it and defend their actions.

Exactly, its their publication and at least one of their employees allowed it to go to print so theyre responsible for every word printed.

I said at the time that whoever got this position NOT to sign the confidentiality agreement as it will come down to bite you on the backside as has been proven. I put it in my "sarcastic" application that i wouldn't sign it as anything that got out would be used against you.

Sadly also Claire played into the owners hands by trying to work the position into what the owners wanted IE a customer services roll and didn't really represent the majority of fans until the last minute. Nothing changed for me in this fans rep roll and whether that was Claire's fault or the clubs will be waiting to see with what happens with the next person that applies.

If the rumours about a certain persons disciplinary hearing last week turn out to be true i think you can say its already started.

The fans rep role has proved itself very useful in showing the analogue three to be in full bunker mode. This has rebounded on them somewhat.

Poor Claire has done a decent job, she's done as much as she could possibly have done under the constraints that were always going to be there. The fact that she has managed to hang on in there for so long says a lot about her tenacity and her desire to make the role worthwhile.

I'm sure there were plenty on here who got sick of me banging on about the role being designed for the owners to hide behind, and to be used for photo opportunities, but in my opinion this just proves I (and a number of others) was right at the time. I seriously can't see how anybody could possibly even want to put themselves forward for this job now. There is nobody, in my view, who would be able to even make as good a go of it as Claire. She tried her hardest to make it a position worth having for the fans, and she hasn't failed, she's been pushed out because she was starting to do more of what fans wanted.

Good for her, I say. I hope she doesn't let this get her down.

Surely it is nowt to do with the print company and more to do with which of the CUFC media team gave the okay for the final draft to go to the printers.

It never strikes me as though anyone is allowed to do anything within the club without the approval of the reluctant three.

I agree to some extent Moorlad but disagree on others.

It was up to Claire to define the position. In my opinion until recently i felt it was turned into a free customer service role rather than a fans rep, representing the club rather than the supporters. Don't forget Claire was more than happy to go to the photo shoots and talk to the press etc.

Its been proven though that it hasn't worked. I have applied seriously this year whether i make the final 4 will remain to be seen but i certainly won't be anyones mug and would take the position in a different direction as it now should be a protest position rather than as you say something for the owners to hide behind. I'd say anyone that wants to use the position as some sort of protest to apply as i'm sure you'd get the vote of those outside the club this time!

Continues to baffle me that you think going down this route would work.

Claire started asking more and more questions, and has ended up having to resign. This gung ho approach that you're so happy to boast that you'd have would get you absolutely nowhere, as shown by this afternoon's statements.

I have no doubt in my mind that Claire has jumped before she was pushed here.

I've spoken to Claire a few times mate, during her time as fans rep, and she was quite clear about what she wanted to do. There was only so much she was allowed to do, and speaking to the media was always useful, and I thought generally she came over quite well. By all means the next incumbent could try taking things a different way, but there is no way it would be allowed.

Whoever it is, it won't be you Mullen, and not because you aren't the best applicant either.

Very poignant moment for CUFC, I think this resignation sums up everything that is wrong in one action.

A dedicated loyal hard-working fan, putting her own reputation and credibility on the line to deliver the role we all wanted, under tremendous pressure and at times some stupidity from those throwing s..t.. The search for openness and transparency, has led to this. The regime feel threatened, the regime do not like change, the regime want and need control, the regime are exactly what we know they are.

Sad day for the Club, they have created a poisoned chalice.

Well done for the brave attempt....

I would imagine Nixon would rig the impartial elections to ensure you wouldn't make the final 4, he will never forget threatening email gate. :) Would be fun to see how many days you lasted before they called you a (censored) and had you escorted from the premises.

To be honest no i don't think it would work, but as i keep saying it needs someone that won't play to the owners tune. At the end of the day the fans rep is in the same room as the owners and those on the holdings company. We need a protest vote in this position whether that be me or someone else but please don't follow Claires example of being diplomatic as they bite you in the arse - go gung ho at the start!

@moorlad I agree it won't be me, but i've been as professional as possible so at least we will know they are after another yes person or as close to as they can get.

I would imagine Nixon would rig the impartial elections to ensure you wouldn't make the final 4, he will never forget threatening email gate. :) Would be fun to see how many days you lasted before they called you a (censored) and had you escorted from the premises.

It wouldn't be days mate ;)

I think if the role is to continue it can't in it's present format.

To me the job is about being the equivalent of a Union Rep.

To me, being a director immediately ties the hands of who ever takes it on. simply because directors are bound by confidentiality. Therefore it can never work.

What the role should be is for some one to take the issues that fans want addressing to the people most relevant at the club. To go in with the understanding that the role entitles the fans rep to ask the questions and the answers will be reported back openly and in a timely manner. Up to the club whether they answer questions openly but not the stupidity that has gone on this term, where the fans rep can go to meetings but then not report answers as they see fit. Totally pointless being at a meeting or trying to do the job under those terms.

Well done Claire for giving it a go, really sorry it has ended like this.

Surprised they have advertised the role with this title.
One thing the role is not is a fans rep.

You mean the roles currently occupied by Norman Steel and that liason fella that most people dont know ;). Claire has taken stick on here because shes been the only one to put her head above ground apart from Deano and maybe that fella who left loads of stuff off his application ;)

Exactly correct Bumble - I echoed the same statements at the start of the process last year in that you can't really be a fans rep and a director it leaves you in limbo.

What your prosing is a fans liaison officer but the less said about that the better.

But i keep banging on thats its up to the person voted as to however they approach the fans rep role.

This confidentiality stuff raises it's ugly head yet again. The club us it for every little thing. They just want someone who will lick they're collective a**s.

again shows how unprofessional we are, no director signs off the programme content and Andy Hall just prints Claire's article without reading it - (or did he?)
