UPDATE

I can get a 12ft x 6ft Banner for £68 quid off a guy I know, so may go ahead and order this, what's everyone's view???

Pay Day next week so will have to wait till then.

For people who still want to help fund this, please go ahead, I would be grateful, as I am poor. Please go to:
www.gofundme.com/zbr46w

If I do not generate enough I will refund those who have donated and buy it myself. Just thought it would be something good that a few of us could be involved in.

Cheers

Put the badge in the middle and F*** Off in the bottom corners? Seems a bit more direct. Though guess would give them stewards a good reason to ask for it to be taken down.

You can't have swearing on it. If you it to cause interest in the media then you might get it mentioned but you won't be able to have it shown on TV or in papers.

This will be owned by all fans, therefore it can be taken to away games as well.

No swearing will be put on as this will cause offence and as Sir Jimmy mentioned if it does attract extra media attention, then the intention is to have it published everywhere, that cannot be done with F Bombs on it.

Deano... you ok with having thecumbrians.net on this ???

Do you think the new trust would mind being affiliated this this also???

This thread was to get the ball rolling.... all ideas welcome.

Get rid of the trust and forum names, too many people will want to twine about it.

Make it nice and simple

'Custodians Over Failure'

I also think a good idea would be to make a banner full of quotes of all the different lies the clowns have came out with over the past few years

'We are fans of the club'
'We are acting in the best interests of the club'
'We are in talks with a billionaire'

Etc...

Teensy-weensy little problemette here - Carlisle United isn't our Club. We don't own it. Like it or not (probably not) they own it. They own and run a sporting organisation that takes the name of the place we are from - it is up to us whether we support this organisation or not.

Personally, I couldn't give a monkey's who is sat in the Director's Box - I go to watch the match and support the team.

Fans make a football club, they are the heart of the club and it is a community asset. They may own the club, but it is still our club.
You can sit there and support the team that's fair enough, we all want to support the team, however I don't want to sit by any longer and do nothing. There is lots of talk on here and no action, therefore I have brought this up to get things moving.

I don't think you should have TheCumbrians.Net on there in all honesty. Whether I do/don't agree with the sentiment, this isn't just my forum. It's a forum for ALL Carlisle United fans, whether they are for or against the current custodians.

Often the best forums are those that have healthy debates, and users with differing opinions. It TheCumbrians.Net started promoting itself as anti-Nixon or anti-Jenkins, then there's the potential of pushing viewers/posters away, and I'd rather everybody felt welcomed to put their point across and have their say.

Hope you understand where I'm coming from.

Totally agree wholeheartedly, simply included the forum address on there as promotion for other fans to be made aware of this forum.

However this will be removed from the flag no problem. like cocaine said lets keep it simple.

I don't have big finances however so I would need help to fund this £500 is a lot of money I know. However I set this ball rolling to get the views of others on here, and to actually get something off the ground.

Less talk more action.

Can I just point out, that without Mr Jenkins there probably wouldn't be a 'Carlisle United', people seem to have forgotten, that over the years he has put a lot of his own money in just to keep the bloody thing going, I know I'm going to get a lot of flack over this but like me, a lot of people are saying exactly the same privately.
I'm not saying I agree wholeheartedly with what is going on, and I do think a lot of things coming from the board could have been done differently (keeping the fans in the loop would be a good start) I'm certain other things can be done without going down this route, which is bordering on personal insults.
Needless to say I wont be giving any money for this flag or any other bloody flag.

I think the fact Jenkins has given years of service and investment to the club is noted on here as the majority of the flack is aimed at Nixon. The problem is he is now destroying the club. Ideally he should sell up and be made life president as recognition of his service. Sadly if he continues the way he is all he will be remembered for is fake billionnaires

I don't think anybody has forgotten about this bluebry, but arguably this has only been necessary due to the way the club has been run by Mr Jenkins and his fellow board members. With no viable alternative to the 'custodians' I think he has been afforded a lot of sympathy and gratitude for him putting his hand in his pocket whenever necessary - but there is now a viable alternative with new ideas and a promise of dragging our club kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. There was a lot of positivity and excitement around the Lapping proposal, how it could take the club to being self-sufficient and drive us forward with fresh ideas and investment - after all the main part of this proposal is to remove the need for Mr Jenkins to have to prop the club out of his own pocket.

The issue most fans have with AJ and JN is that they had what appears to be an excellent opportunity to gain a large amount of investment into the club, with a new, dynamic board and investors made of mainly of local business people, alongside some excellent footballing professionals to move us forward into the future... but they then decided that this anonymous and ambiguous overseas billionaire is potentially the "best thing for the club"... or, if you think like the majority of the people on here do, they think they are the best thing for the club, despite the fact that in a short number of years they've taken us from the brink of the promotion to the Championship to the verge of relegation out of the football league.

So, yes, the majority of us are appreciative for Mr Jenkins bailing the club out when it's been needed over the years... but his time has come and gone, we need new blood and fresh ideas, we need dynamic business people and communication to us, the fans, the longer they stay in control of the club the more likely we are to fail. There was a buzz around the club at the end of the season, and we could have been in the best position as a club that we've been in for years... but they decided otherwise as they would have more details in 5-10 days... what are we on now, day 55?

To be honest 'Chester' I agree with most of what you have wrote, and I'm not about to start arguing the opposite.
Its just that over the years he has frequently bailed us out (and I know the arguments about him getting us in this mess in the first place). However when it comes down to personal and abusive attacks....well I just think he deserves a bit better than that.
My only argument about 'the Lapping deal' so to speak is this, (whether there is a Billionaire or not) maybe just maybe there is/was something that they didn't feel comfortable with. On paper and by what we have been told it sounded great..........but we all said the same when Knighton took over, just maybe they weren't entirely happy with it, and after the Knighton debacle you can probably understand why.

I'm sorry CvB, I don't generally disagree with you, but I feel on this we are miles apart. I am not at all grateful for what Jenkins has done and the money he has put in. Certainly not during their latest tenure. We were riding the crest of a wave when the four horsemen of the apocalypse took command (for £1 each, remember). They have presided over massive drops in attendance, and as a result huge gaping holes in their budgets which, of course, has meant large losses in the accounts which he, Jenkins has had to cover. What could have been done differently? Well for a start as soon as Abbott handed the team sheet in at Wembley for the game against Southampton he should have been sacked. Actually the reality is he should have been sacked before that. But I believe our humiliation in that game, coupled with Abbott's appalling brand of football has led to our rapid decline.

The lunatic's contract was even extended, which was even worse as he continued to drive fans away in their droves, when he was finally removed, an even worse mistake was to appoint Kavanagh, he continued where Abbott had left off but with even worse judgement in the transfer. Our relegation from League 1 was assured almost as soon as the appointment was made (a couple of decent results - dead cat bounce - notwithstanding). Of course being appalling on the pitch led to even more fans voting with their feet.

This lot, including Pattison, and to a lesser extent Allen have all contributed to the terrible decline from the verge of the championship to the verge of the conference. Curle was only just able to save us from the ignominy of being relegated out of the league again - in my view, with what he had, a massive achievement.

When you consider how much losing 4 or 5,000 fans per game must have cost, coupled with less cash for being in League 2, it isn't difficult to see why he's had to put his hand in his pocket. The club is completely disconnected from fans, and this has been caused by them as well.

Don't apologise for having a different opinion to mine Moorlad, you nob! ;) I actually don't think we're as far apart as you think on this, it's just I've perhaps sugar coated it a touch.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not grateful for the way they've run the club since FS left, or for the poor decisions they've made that you list... but neither JN or SP were going to stump up to cover for their shortfalls - AJ did. As I said his/their time has been and gone... they are not capable of running a football club which they have proven over the last five years or so, never mind a successful one. They need to leave and they need to do it quickly - ideally handing over the reigns to the Lapping group.

I think that is where they went wrong though 'Moorlad'. They kept Abbott to long, they then appointed King Calamity (Kav) and then appointed Coco (Curle).

Precisely so Bry. They kept Abbott, that was their error. The cost of that was a massive loss of support, there were fewer punters every year of Abbott's reign, the loss of 100 fans costs the club over £45,000 a year, over the past 5 years we've dropped 3,000 fans (at least), I know it has been gradual, but over that period, that is millions of pounds that they've cost us by their mismanagement., probably 3 or 4 million. He hasn't put that amount in, has he. So if Abbott had been sacked at the right time, the right manager appointed who would have played proper football and not talked cack we'd have kept a load of fans, and maybe have had money to actually spend on the team.

See you in the rugby club in a few weeks.

I'm firmly with CvB on this one, the only reason AJ has had to bail the club out on numerous occasions is because he and JN have made such a mess of running it in the first place. A club of Carlisle's size should be self sufficient if ran properly therefore it wouldn't need these bailouts we talk about.

In the 80's the club went from the equivelant of the Championship to the bottom of the football league under AJ's stewardship. 30 years on they've gone from the top of league one to the bottom of the football league under his stewardship. I have no doubt he means well but it's blatantly obvious he is not cut out for running a football club.

Excellent idea with the flag, the thought had crossed my mind. Will definatly be contributing and if your struggling for funds let me know and I'd be more than happy to provide more! Re the Jenkins comment: I used to think the same about him pumping his own money into the club to keep it going. However, we can't forget the total disregard he's shown to Andrew lapping. He was weeks away from leaving the club and had the perfect opportunity to hand the club over. If the bloke really wanted out then why on earth would he pull a stunt like this? He's lost all my respect and these 2 are slowly killing the club

Cheers Scott, assuming that was you who has just donated?

If people know any cheaper alternative places, that would be a massive help.

Other designs could be uploaded on here, and we could all vote for the best one.

Most are agreeing and sharing the view that they are unhappy with how things are currently being ran, its time to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the two in charge. Come on guys and gals, lets do something.

Funds for home made stuff could be useful... Whatever we make on here I will ensure it is used to get the message across that the two at the top need to go.

Once a substantial amount is generated along with my own ££ that I will put in, I can put it to a vote to decide what we should do with the money.
This then will get the majority having their voices heard.

AJ & JN OUT !

Might be worth updating the original post with the latest design you intend on using, just to avoid any confusion.

I assume part of the expense is because it's a flag you're buying. Would a simple banner with a message on not be cheaper and more appropriate ?

I just priced that one banner up... The idea was to first of all bring it to the forefront that some actions instead of words need to go down at home / away games.

If you put links up to cheaper or alternative banners / flags etc then we can certainly look to get a better deal.

Also sharing designs would be appreciated.

Has the decline in the clubs fortunes been through mismanagement?

Considering the position the club was in and Story getting cold feet there was only one (Jenkins) who had significant funds to keep the club going. Was it a carefully laid plan to allow the club to fall back to the lower reaches of the FL thus making the running of the club, wages etc that much more affordable.

The club has plundered to the depths so quickly it would've taken one spectacularly disastrous decision after another to get them all wrong unless the decision makers were a complete set of buffoons although that could be the answer I'm looking for.

Yeah mate, I think it is mismanagement. I actually don't think it has been deliberate, even though some of the decisions have been jaw dropping. These pair are so greedy they won't have been thinking about how much it would cost them, just how long until they could get their hands on all the money. In fairness the decisions have been terrible, in some cases spectacularly so, and they have followed on one from another. In my view they have to have been mismanagement, because nobody could possibly have thought they'd get away with it otherwise. So yes, they are utter buffoons.

Something nice & simple. Plain blue flag, with white text. 3 or 4 words max. I'll chuck in £16 when I get chance.

"IN LAPPING WE TRUST" would do me.

Mismanagement at all levels of the club.

Giving Abbott an extended contract
Giving Kavanagh the job
Giving Kavanagh such a long contract
Letting Wells go for nothing (whoever's decision it was)
The whole marketing department in recent years
The Blue Yonder Project
Letting Madden go without giving him a run in the team
Losing ridiculous cup ties which would have earned us plum next round ties
The contempt and poor treatment shown to fans in recent years
Etc
Etc
Etc

Would be better in the waterworks. More TV coverage on there. Although I doubt it'll do anything in regards to them [censored] off

Ultras Shop in Poland, can get an 8m x 1.5m banner for €132, roughly £100. Bargain...

www.ultrasshop.com/index.php?a=sklep&k;=116

Plenty room for a slogan/message on that size!

Sadly flags, online petitions etc will make no difference to the pair of them. They know that the vast majority of fans hate them, 5 minutes on here will confirm that to them, but they don't care. The only thing they care about is maintaining their positions as owners of a football club. I suspect that they are deluded enough to think that they are doing a good job.

The only thing that might remove them is a significant hit to their wallets or some sort of physical threat. Note, I am not advocating this as it isn't the way to achieve anything and those two clowns aren't worth getting a criminal record for.

Sadly we're stuck with them for a while unless something dramatic happens
