Should have been sent off at BP in the 1-1 draw with York this season.

Blatant yellow card bottled by the referee about 2 minutes after he was previously booked. York then subbed him.

I hear he's good a drawing the opposition into making errors.

Sounds like a squad player to me from that, a Sweeney type of player.

I'd say that's central midfield sorted now that we have Penn, McKee, Joyce and Kennedy on the books. Solid if unspectacular signing. My only slight concern is the lack of goals in that area. We shall see.

Yet to go with a player that has been released is nice to see.

Think Penn is a player who could play as part of a 4 man midfield where as Hery, Balanta & Sweeney couldn't.

Couple of good signings so far, but a York fan I know who goes to every game says Penn was very poor last season.

So that's 13 confirmed, with 2 offered (*).

That's not exactly a lot of midfielders. We got rid of Angelo Balanta, Bastien Hery, Louis Pedro, Antony Sweeney and Joe Thompson (as well as all of the loans ending) so bringing in 3 midfielders isn't exactly surprising.

I've heard he's bald and runs aboot a lot. If he's played 149 times for Kiddermister he can;t be that bad though.

Playing alongside berrett will have also.made his play go backwards last season...probably having to cover when berrett became invisible

Direct competition for Joyce in the holding role. He basically goes around kicking people. L2 stalwart who will do the dirty work. If we did get promotion he'll only be here for a year.

Not a flashy signing by any means but all good sides need that kind of player. Not one who will put the attendance figure up.

Do you think we'll be able to pencil him in to the starting line up.
