It's on the right of the telly and been done to look like a stamp.....one of those players easily forgotten , nice he's been commemorated.

Taffy were the games in the Westmorland FA Sunday Cup ? as the Hare and Hounds used to enter it quite regularly in the late eighties and early nineties standing out as one of the few teams who entered but didnt play regularly in a league i remember him playing for them on one of the other pitches on the Jubilee in Kendal one Sunday morning i think he was about 50 at the time.

PADDOCK Offline Ball Boy Posts: 63 Likes received: 28	He lived on Lingmoor Way next to the cuts, he'll be about 71 now. His dad was a carpenter at Cavvies and his brother John was a decent player as well but not quite enough to make the grade. His sister Ann was or is a well known dog breeder and lived at Ainstable. My claim to fame was I've played against him in the street. When he left football he owned a caravan park. not sure where.

yeah that's right went to school with my uncle who lived on Baird Road..... Left winger wasn't he?

Born late 56, but remember him well. Always stood out amongst the other dross at Liverpool (looked class and totally relaxed on the ball). Made the game look easy. Similar players/wingers in later years .... the one and only George McVitie....and much later Denis Martin. Also a vague recollection of a Blackpool player in the early 70s called Tommy Hutchison.

Scotland were over running England and Thompson was sub'd for the uncompromising Mullery. Result 0 - 0. Referees didn't protect then and conflict was the main aim. Thompson was class but just played in an era that didn't appreciate or protect his,or others like him, Quality.
