Who in their right mind would lend £10m to a [censored] football club?

Yeah, £1.8 million maybe, but not 10 million, that's just ridiculous! ;)

They've also sent Stephen Fry off to look for their missing "a".

I'm sure he'll find it and come back with some fascinating stories as long as he doesn't get sidetracked by the canaries :)

The more I tell myself to check the title for typos cos I can't alter later, the more likely I am to make a mistake, if mods can be bothered to tidy up after me again that would be good, but I guess most folk have come to expect typos from me by now :)

Everybody whos followed this story knows where its gone and the council have got what they paid for its the club whos lost out not them but the new owner in getting the council to sign off his takeover had to agree to fund the completion of the stand if in a much reduced form from what it was meant to be.at least what was there before is now open again with the uncompleted new section of the stand sat behind it and from what i understand is hes currently trying to loan the money to complete it.

Northampton council must have been awash with cash. They lent Northampton Saints rugby union £5.5m in 2013 at 3.97% interest over 25 years.

Well that would be a much better use of the money and produce a better return the most of the hair brained schemes that most councils usually come up with.

They could have had two Currock footbridges for that money, and had a bit left over for additional footpath widening.
