That the figure of 81k given for the playoff final yesterday seemed well on the high side given the empty seats on the top teir and Olympic Gallery and the more than a smattering of unsold ones at pitch level.opposite the cameras at the Hull end.

Although them getting back up will probably allow them to push ahead with their completely disgusting money grabbing plans. Lets just hope the Premier League have more balls and are willing to get involved where the FL wernt.

Mind you i thought that the Wednesday fans were superb and their style of football would have been a refreshing change in the Premiership.

They seem have forgotten what the word "attendance" means.... the amount that turn up not the tickets sold-freebie etc..arsenal are an example of false attendance numbers and this needs brought up.

70,187 was the attendance.

A problem mentioned on 5live was that Hull City didn't sell the tickets in the advised order and therefore those tickets left couldn't be sold to Wednesday fans.

Millwall have sold 30k and Barnsley 20k which is a good effort for todays play-off. Especailly since Barnsley took 25k for JPT only a few weeks ago.

If we were playing Plymouth in the final tomorrow how many would we be taking? 15k maybe?

Plymouth have sold 34k and Wimbledon 20k, decent sales figures...

Yeah i.d go for about 15k if it was us tomorrow what with the West Coast line being shut ruling out easy train travel and nil chance of our shithouse owners offering subsidised coach travel.

I agree Bumble not only a good read, but from my experience fairly accurately reflects the opinions of Hull people.

I watched the match yesterday in a village “sporting” pub just outside Hull. The pub widows were adorned with badges of Hull KR, Hull FC and Hull City. The pub was full and there were two televisions showing the match and at half time there was free sausage and chips.

But there was no evidence of the Hull City flags, scarfs, memorabilia and only one very young boy wore a team shirt. They watched the game with varying commitment some fleetingly and a few avidly. When City scored there was a huge roar, but after.... When the City player was fouled and rolled around the consensus was “get up you soft cheating shxt”. And the how are Hull FC getting on. They are real men, brave.

There was tension in added time but at the final whistle a cheer but no celebrations. The talk afterwards was – the money is obscene and where is it going – to Allam and then after he’s had his share to overpaid primadonnas.

I just remember when Carlisle United made the First Division and how different the unbridled emotion was that night. So different.
